廣州(zhou)市白(bai)云(yun)中學(xue)創辦(ban)于(yu)1960年(nian),前身是(shi)白(bai)云(yun)師(shi)范學(xue)校(xiao),后(hou)經歷五次搬(ban)遷(qian),六易校(xiao)名,1999年(nian)轉制辦(ban)高(gao)中, 2000年(nian)更名為廣州(zhou)市白(bai)云(yun)中學(xue),是(shi)白(bai)云(yun)區四所骨干高(gao)中之一,學(xue)校(xiao)于(yu)2010年(nian)9月整(zheng)體搬(ban)遷(qian)到金沙洲校(xiao)區。學(xue)校(xiao)擬于(yu)2017年(nian)下半年(nian)申報示范性高(gao)中。

廣州市白云中學(xue)的(de)前身是創辦于1960年的(de)江村師范學(xue)校(xiao),校(xiao)址位于白云區蚌(bang)湖玉(yu)墟(xu)宮,設(she)速師班(ban)2個,幼師班(ban)2個,共(gong)有學(xue)生186人(ren),教職工(gong)23人(ren)。
1964年學校易名為(wei)廣州(zhou)市郊(jiao)區農(nong)業職業學校,校址設(she)在今(jin)九佛鎮,當(dang)年招收(shou)會計(ji)專業2個班,初級(ji)農(nong)業技術班2個,共200人,實(shi)行半(ban)農(nong)半(ban)讀。
1965年春,學(xue)校遷至(zhi)石井莘村(cun),同年夏季(ji),又遷至(zhi)東圃新(xin)塘鐘嶺,開設果(guo)樹專(zhuan)業、獸醫專(zhuan)業各1個(ge)班(ban),普師專(zhuan)業2個(ge)班(ban),速(su)成師范1個(ge)班(ban),共250人,由于(yu)增開師范專(zhuan)業,學(xue)校更名為(wei)廣州市農職(zhi)師范學(xue)校。
1968年(nian)至1969年(nian),學(xue)(xue)校改(gai)為普通中(zhong)學(xue)(xue),更名為廣州市110中(zhong)學(xue)(xue),校址(zhi)設(she)在現天(tian)河區(qu)東圃。
1969年(nian)經市(shi)批準,學校又更名為廣州(zhou)市(shi)郊(jiao)區師范(fan)學校。
1969年至1972年初,學(xue)校共培(pei)訓中(zhong)小學(xue)教師1000多人,由于(yu)辦學(xue)規范的(de)不斷擴大。
1972年,學(xue)校遷至沙河馬蹄崗,一(yi)方(fang)面(mian)(mian)繼續招(zhao)收普師(shi)班(ban)(兩年制),另一(yi)方(fang)面(mian)(mian)擔負在(zai)職教師(shi)的進修培訓任(ren)務。
1980年正式(shi)招收初(chu)中(zhong)畢業(ye)生,學制(zhi)改(gai)為三年。
1983年(nian)區政(zheng)府和市教育局(ju)為了進一步完(wan)善(shan)學(xue)校辦(ban)學(xue)設施,提高辦(ban)學(xue)水平,撥款250萬元,在廣(guang)州(zhou)大道中水蔭(yin)二橫路新建校址。1984年(nian)秋,學(xue)校遷至新址。
1987年更名為(wei)廣(guang)州市白(bai)云師(shi)范學校,招(zhao)生規模(mo)擴(kuo)大到18個(ge)班(ban),并(bing)招(zhao)收天河、芳(fang)村、黃(huang)埔以及從化(hua)、增城、新(xin)(xin)豐、龍門(men)、陽(yang)江等地(di)新(xin)(xin)生,至此白(bai)云師(shi)范便成(cheng)為(wei)了廣(guang)州市縣(xian)區園丁的搖籃。
1999年,由于中師(shi)教(jiao)育(yu)對日益發展的教(jiao)育(yu)形勢(shi)的不適應(ying),學(xue)校(xiao)開始轉制辦高(gao)中,同(tong)年招收(shou)首(shou)屆高(gao)一(yi)新生,但為了解決(jue)中師(shi)辦學(xue)的歷史遺(yi)留問題,1999—2001年,同(tong)時兼辦中師(shi)和電大班。
2000年學(xue)校經市(shi)政府批(pi)準,正式更名(ming)為廣州市(shi)白(bai)云中學(xue),被(bei)列(lie)為白(bai)云區(qu)四所骨干高(gao)中之一(yi)。
2009年10月高一年級遷至新校(xiao)區,該(gai)學年分水蔭(yin)路校(xiao)區和金沙(sha)洲校(xiao)區。
2010年(nian)9月學校整體搬遷到金沙洲校區(qu)(qu),水蔭路校區(qu)(qu)則移交(jiao)給執信中(zhong)學使用。
2017年,廣州(zhou)市白(bai)云中學作為市教育局統(tong)籌建設對象,開始了創建示范(fan)性高(gao)中的工作,擬(ni)于2017年下半年提出(chu)申報(bao)。
