這部作品以吳(wu)(wu)越(yue)爭霸為歷史背景,吳(wu)(wu)優而越(yue)劣,勾(gou)踐(jian)為擊敗(bai)夫(fu)差,采用了(le)范(fan)蠡(li)的(de)(de)(de)計策(ce),就在(zai)接近成功(gong)時,在(zai)鑄劍(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)和劍(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)術上(shang)遇到了(le)挫折。吳(wu)(wu)國劍(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)士(shi)不(bu)但劍(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)利術精,且善用兵法,越(yue)人(ren)不(bu)敵。而此時出(chu)(chu)現的(de)(de)(de)放(fang)羊女阿(a)青(qing)卻(que)輕易地擊敗(bai)了(le)吳(wu)(wu)國四劍(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)士(shi),范(fan)蠡(li)以之為奇,將阿(a)青(qing)接到府邸,終于使越(yue)國劍(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)士(shi)觀摩到了(le)“神(shen)劍(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)”的(de)(de)(de)影(ying)(ying)子。就憑這“神(shen)劍(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)”的(de)(de)(de)影(ying)(ying)子,越(yue)國的(de)(de)(de)劍(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)術已是天下無敵了(le)!另(ling)一(yi)方面,在(zai)薛燭的(de)(de)(de)指點下,越(yue)國也(ye)造出(chu)(chu)了(le)利劍(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)千萬,條(tiao)件成熟,勾(gou)踐(jian)早已按耐不(bu)住,終于大破吳(wu)(wu)軍。而在(zai)范(fan)蠡(li)的(de)(de)(de)心中,攻破吳(wu)(wu)國并不(bu)是唯一(yi)的(de)(de)(de)目的(de)(de)(de),他(ta)更想見到被獻給(gei)夫(fu)差的(de)(de)(de)美女西(xi)(xi)施(shi)。當兩(liang)人(ren)見面時,阿(a)青(qing)出(chu)(chu)現了(le),因(yin)為她已經喜歡上(shang)了(le)范(fan)蠡(li),并以劍(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)(jian)氣(qi)傷了(le)西(xi)(xi)施(shi)。但最終因(yin)西(xi)(xi)施(shi)的(de)(de)(de)美貌而黯(an)然離去……

歷史傳說
關于越(yue)女劍的傳說悠(you)遠(yuan),散見(jian)于正史和野編,最(zui)(zui)早、最(zui)(zui)詳(xiang)盡(jin)的記載是東漢趙曄的《吳越(yue)春秋》,在后來的《藝文類聚(ju)》及《劍俠傳》中(zhong)亦有記載,小說《東周列國(guo)志演(yan)義》中(zhong)也有。
《吳越春(chun)秋》中有(you)這樣的記載:
“其時越王又(you)問相(xiang)國(guo)范蠡曰(yue):‘孤有報復(fu)之謀,水戰則乘舟,陸行(xing)(xing)則乘輿。輿舟之利,頓于(yu)兵(bing)弩。今子(zi)為寡人(ren)(ren)謀事,莫(mo)不謬者乎?’范蠡對曰(yue):‘臣聞古(gu)之圣人(ren)(ren),莫(mo)不習戰用兵(bing)。然行(xing)(xing)陣、隊(dui)伍、軍鼓(gu)之事,吉(ji)兇決在其工。今聞越有處(chu)女,出于(yu)南林(lin)(是指(zhi)古(gu)歙縣的(de)南鄉地(di)區,主峰(feng)擱船尖,這(zhe)里一直有傳說36把越女劍(jian),又(you)稱(cheng)(cheng)36把徽(hui)劍(jian)),國(guo)人(ren)(ren)稱(cheng)(cheng)善。愿王請之,立(li)可見。’越王乃使使聘(pin)之,問以劍(jian)戟(ji)之術。
“處女將北見于(yu)王,道逢(feng)一(yi)翁,自稱曰(yue)‘袁公(gong)’,問(wen)于(yu)處女曰(yue):吾聞子善劍,愿一(yi)見之。’女曰(yue):‘妾不(bu)敢多所(suo)隱(yin),惟公(gong)試之。’于(yu)是袁公(gong)即杖(zhang)箖箊(yu)(竹(zhu)名(ming))竹(zhu),竹(zhu)枝上(shang)頡(jie)橋(向上(shang)勁挑),未(wei)墮地(‘未(wei)’應作‘末’,竹(zhu)梢(shao)折而跌落(luo)),女即捷末(‘捷’應作‘接’,接住竹(zhu)梢(shao))。袁公(gong)則飛上(shang)樹,變為白(bai)猿,遂(sui)別去。
“見越王(wang)。越王(wang)問(wen)曰(yue)(yue)(yue)(yue):‘夫劍(jian)之(zhi)(zhi)道(dao)(dao)如之(zhi)(zhi)何?’女(nv)(nv)曰(yue)(yue)(yue)(yue):‘妾(qie)生深林之(zhi)(zhi)中,長于無人之(zhi)(zhi)野,無道(dao)(dao)不(bu)習,不(bu)達諸侯(hou),竊(qie)好(hao)擊劍(jian)之(zhi)(zhi)道(dao)(dao),誦之(zhi)(zhi)不(bu)休。妾(qie)非受于人也(ye),而忽(hu)自(zi)有之(zhi)(zhi)。’越王(wang)曰(yue)(yue)(yue)(yue):‘其(qi)道(dao)(dao)如何?’女(nv)(nv)曰(yue)(yue)(yue)(yue):‘其(qi)道(dao)(dao)甚(shen)微而易,其(qi)意甚(shen)幽而深。道(dao)(dao)有門(men)(men)戶(hu),亦(yi)有陰陽。開(kai)門(men)(men)閉戶(hu),陰衰陽興。凡手戰(zhan)之(zhi)(zhi)道(dao)(dao),內(nei)實精神,外示(shi)安儀。見之(zhi)(zhi)似好(hao)婦,奪之(zhi)(zhi)似懼虎(hu)(看上去好(hao)像溫柔(rou)的(de)女(nv)(nv)子,一(yi)受攻擊,立(li)刻便如受到(dao)威脅的(de)猛虎(hu)那樣,作出迅速強烈(lie)的(de)反應(ying))。布形(xing)(xing)候(hou)氣,與神俱往(wang)。杳之(zhi)(zhi)若日,偏如騰(teng)兔(tu),追(zhui)形(xing)(xing)逐影,光若仿(fang)佛,呼吸往(wang)來,不(bu)及法禁,縱橫逆(ni)順(shun),直復不(bu)聞。斯道(dao)(dao)者,一(yi)人當(dang)百,百人當(dang)萬。王(wang)欲試(shi)之(zhi)(zhi),其(qi)驗即(ji)見。’越王(wang)即(ji)加女(nv)(nv)號,號曰(yue)(yue)(yue)(yue)‘越女(nv)(nv)’。乃命五(wu)板之(zhi)(zhi)墮(duo)(‘墮(duo)’應(ying)作‘隊’)高(‘高’是人名(ming),高隊長)習之(zhi)(zhi)教軍(jun)士,當(dang)世莫勝越女(nv)(nv)之(zhi)(zhi)劍(jian)。”
《劍俠(xia)傳(chuan)》則說(shuo):“袁公即(ji)挽(wan)林杪(miao)之(zhi)竹似桔槔,末(mo)折地,女(nv)接其末(mo)。公操其本而刺(ci)女(nv)。女(nv)因舉杖擊之(zhi),公即(ji)上(shang)樹,化(hua)為白(bai)猿。”
“桔槔”是井上汲(ji)水的滑車(che),當是從《吳越春秋》中“頡橋”兩字化出來的,形容袁公使(shi)動竹枝時的靈動。
越(yue)(yue)(yue)國(guo)的(de)謀臣(chen)范(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)蠡(li)(li)(li),原為(wei)楚國(guo)人(ren),字少伯,出仕(shi)越(yue)(yue)(yue)國(guo)為(wei)大(da)(da)(da)夫(fu)(fu)。吳(wu)越(yue)(yue)(yue)夫(fu)(fu)椒之(zhi)戰(zhan),越(yue)(yue)(yue)國(guo)大(da)(da)(da)敗,退(tui)保會(hui)稽(今(jin)浙江紹興(xing))。范(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)蠡(li)(li)(li)獻計越(yue)(yue)(yue)王(wang),卑身(shen)厚賂(lu)(包(bao)括獻出美(mei)(mei)女西(xi)(xi)施(shi)和(he)鄭旦(dan))向吳(wu)求和(he),自己也(ye)陪(pei)同越(yue)(yue)(yue)王(wang)勾(gou)(gou)踐(jian)至吳(wu)為(wei)人(ren)質,終于(yu)(yu)(yu)迷惑吳(wu)王(wang),放虎(hu)歸(gui)(gui)山。歸(gui)(gui)國(guo)后(hou)(hou),范(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)蠡(li)(li)(li)與(yu)大(da)(da)(da)夫(fu)(fu)文(wen)(wen)種(zhong)協(xie)力治國(guo),加強戰(zhan)備,公(gong)元前(qian)473年,越(yue)(yue)(yue)兵(bing)破吳(wu),迫使夫(fu)(fu)差自殺,越(yue)(yue)(yue)國(guo)因(yin)此強盛。勾(gou)(gou)踐(jian)稱霸(ba)(ba)后(hou)(hou),范(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)蠡(li)(li)(li)辭官歸(gui)(gui)隱(yin)至齊國(guo),曾任齊相。據說(shuo)(shuo)他(ta)善于(yu)(yu)(yu)經(jing)營,積(ji)財千萬,成了(le)大(da)(da)(da)富翁,號陶朱公(gong)。范(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)蠡(li)(li)(li)歸(gui)(gui)隱(yin)后(hou)(hou)曾寫信給大(da)(da)(da)夫(fu)(fu)文(wen)(wen)種(zhong),提醒他(ta)“飛(fei)鳥盡,良弓藏;狡兔死,走狗(gou)烹”他(ta)認為(wei)越(yue)(yue)(yue)王(wang)勾(gou)(gou)踐(jian)只可共(gong)(gong)患難(nan),不(bu)(bu)(bu)可共(gong)(gong)安樂,勸(quan)文(wen)(wen)種(zhong)也(ye)離開勾(gou)(gou)踐(jian),功成身(shen)退(tui)。文(wen)(wen)種(zhong)沒(mei)有(you)(you)(you)聽從(cong)范(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)蠡(li)(li)(li)的(de)勸(quan)告。后(hou)(hou)來勾(gou)(gou)踐(jian)聽信讒言,令文(wen)(wen)種(zhong)自殺。文(wen)(wen)種(zhong)嘆曰(yue):“我懊悔沒(mei)有(you)(you)(you)聽范(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)蠡(li)(li)(li)的(de)話(hua),才(cai)遭(zao)到這樣的(de)下場(chang)!”后(hou)(hou)人(ren)為(wei)越(yue)(yue)(yue)王(wang)辯曰(yue):范(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)蠡(li)(li)(li)文(wen)(wen)種(zhong)之(zhi)所以(yi)不(bu)(bu)(bu)見(jian)容于(yu)(yu)(yu)勾(gou)(gou)踐(jian),并不(bu)(bu)(bu)是由于(yu)(yu)(yu)“可以(yi)共(gong)(gong)患難(nan),不(bu)(bu)(bu)可以(yi)共(gong)(gong)富貴”,要知(zhi)道勾(gou)(gou)踐(jian)乃王(wang)霸(ba)(ba)之(zhi)才(cai),且(qie)正是大(da)(da)(da)展宏圖(tu),用人(ren)之(zhi)時怎么會(hui)殺自己的(de)得力干(gan)將呢(ni)?當(dang)時越(yue)(yue)(yue)已吞吳(wu)之(zhi)地,欲向北爭霸(ba)(ba)擴(kuo)疆,第一個對手(shou)便是楚國(guo)(越(yue)(yue)(yue)衰時曾被楚盡奪(duo)浙西(xi)(xi)之(zhi)地),而范(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)蠡(li)(li)(li)和(he)文(wen)(wen)種(zhong)皆(jie)為(wei)楚人(ren),所以(yi)勾(gou)(gou)踐(jian)不(bu)(bu)(bu)能信任他(ta)們。美(mei)(mei)女西(xi)(xi)施(shi)亦稱西(xi)(xi)子(zi),越(yue)(yue)(yue)國(guo)人(ren),家(jia)住苧蘿(今(jin)浙江諸暨南(nan))浣(huan)紗村(cun)西(xi)(xi)。越(yue)(yue)(yue)王(wang)勾(gou)(gou)踐(jian)從(cong)范(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)蠡(li)(li)(li)施(shi)美(mei)(mei)人(ren)計,獻西(xi)(xi)施(shi)于(yu)(yu)(yu)吳(wu)王(wang)夫(fu)(fu)差,在吳(wu)王(wang)宮中極受寵愛,同時的(de)美(mei)(mei)女鄭旦(dan)卻不(bu)(bu)(bu)見(jian)經(jing)傳。吳(wu)亡后(hou)(hou),有(you)(you)(you)說(shuo)(shuo)她被越(yue)(yue)(yue)王(wang)“沉于(yu)(yu)(yu)江”,有(you)(you)(you)說(shuo)(shuo)她與(yu)范(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)蠡(li)(li)(li)駕扁舟(zhou)入五(wu)湖(即(ji)今(jin)太(tai)湖)隱(yin)居,也(ye)有(you)(you)(you)民間(jian)傳說(shuo)(shuo),他(ta)們隱(yin)居到了(le)古山越(yue)(yue)(yue)腹地---神山 擱(ge)船尖的(de)“石門(men)九不(bu)(bu)(bu)鎖”,不(bu)(bu)(bu)知(zhi)所終。范(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)蠡(li)(li)(li)在無錫留下了(le)不(bu)(bu)(bu)少傳說(shuo)(shuo),在無錫有(you)(you)(you)好多地名(ming)與(yu)范(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)(fan)蠡(li)(li)(li)有(you)(you)(you)關,如蠡(li)(li)(li)河、蠡(li)(li)(li)橋(qiao)、蠡(li)(li)(li)園、罵(ma)蠡(li)(li)(li)港(gang)橋(qiao)(現已改名(ming)為(wei)馬(ma)蠡(li)(li)(li)港(gang)橋(qiao))等。
