廣寧(ning)中(zhong)學創建于1930年8月(yue)。學校(xiao)占地面(mian)積(ji)84324平方米(mi),校(xiao)舍(she)建筑面(mian)積(ji)39561平方米(mi),現(xian)有(you)教學大(da)樓(lou)(lou)、科學樓(lou)(lou)、辦公樓(lou)(lou)、學生(sheng)宿舍(she)大(da)樓(lou)(lou)、教師宿舍(she)樓(lou)(lou)共(gong)12幢;有(you)地理(li)園(yuan)和(he)生(sheng)物園(yuan)各(ge)1個;有(you)400、200米(mi)跑道運動場(chang)(chang)各(ge)1個、水泥籃球(qiu)場(chang)(chang)3個、羽(yu)毛球(qiu)場(chang)(chang)2個、室(shi)(shi)(shi)內體育運動場(chang)(chang)1個。科學樓(lou)(lou)內現(xian)有(you)各(ge)學科實驗室(shi)(shi)(shi)、語音實驗室(shi)(shi)(shi)、多媒體電教室(shi)(shi)(shi)、電子閱覽室(shi)(shi)(shi)、軟件制作室(shi)(shi)(shi)、視控中(zhong)心、多媒體電腦室(shi)(shi)(shi)、勞技室(shi)(shi)(shi)、校(xiao)史展覽室(shi)(shi)(shi)、美術室(shi)(shi)(shi)、音樂室(shi)(shi)(shi)、閱覽室(shi)(shi)(shi)、藏書(shu)室(shi)(shi)(shi)共(gong)30間,有(you)藏書(shu)96880冊,并(bing)建立了(le)(le)校(xiao)園(yuan)信息網絡,建成了(le)(le)廣寧(ning)中(zhong)學網站(zhan),配置了(le)(le)7個電教平臺。
馮肇(zhao)光(1899一1951 ),別(bie)名隱韜,今東鄉鎮黃坪里仁村(cun)人。
民國3年(1914)畢業于縣(xian)城文治學堂。秋,考入省立第四中學(今肇慶中學)就讀。
畢業后,于民國(guo)7年遠渡重洋留學法國(guo)巴黎政治大學經濟系,獲碩(shuo)士(shi)學位。
民(min)國17年回國,先后任廣(guang)(guang)州中山(shan)大學法科講師、國立(li)廣(guang)(guang)東法學院教授兼(jian)黃埔軍校(xiao)政治教官(guan)、廣(guang)(guang)州市參議等職。
民國19年春,任省教育(yu)廳秘書、第四科科長。秋(qiu),為了發展(zhan)家鄉教育(yu)事業,造福(fu)桑樣,毅然回(hui)到廣寧(ning)(ning)。 在籌建(jian)廣寧(ning)(ning)初級中學時,說服鄉村父老,把潭布嚴桐的祖(zu)嘗田(tian)產(年收租谷2000石)賣掉,將款(kuan)捐(juan)獻給寧(ning)(ning)中建(jian)校。
學校(xiao)建(jian)成后(hou),出(chu)任廣(guang)寧中學校(xiao)長(chang)。任職期間,處(chu)處(chu)以身作則,與教(jiao)師同甘共苦,對學生嚴(yan)格要求,循循善誘,深得師生們的愛戴。
抗日(ri)戰(zhan)爭爆發,他經常組織學生利用課(ke)余時間(jian),深入圩鎮、鄉村,宣傳(chuan)抗日(ri)救國的道理,培養出不少的進(jin)步(bu)同學。
民國(guo)30年調廣雅中學(廣州淪陷(xian)后遷信宜)任(ren)校長。
民國(guo)34年(nian)任省(sheng)教育(yu)廳督學(xue)(xue)。次(ci)年(nian)任省(sheng)銳(rui)志中學(xue)(xue)校長。
民(min)國(guo)(guo)36年,競選國(guo)(guo)大代表失敗。
民國37年1—8月,任廣寧縣縣長。
次年任西江(jiang)中(zhong)學校長。

廣寧(ning)中學(xue)(xue)創建于1930年,初(chu)時校名為廣寧(ning)縣立中學(xue)(xue)。
1956年學校更(geng)名(ming)為(wei)廣寧第一中學;1958年廣寧、四(si)會合縣,學校更(geng)名(ming)為(wei)廣四(si)縣南街中學。
1960年學校改名為廣(guang)寧(ning)縣廣(guang)寧(ning)中學。
1969年學校改(gai)名為五七中(zhong)學。
1977年初校名恢復為(wei)廣(guang)寧(ning)中(zhong)學(xue),并確(que)定(ding)為(wei)縣重點中(zhong)學(xue)。
1999年被定為市重點(dian)中學。
2001年(nian)(nian)7月寧城中學(xue)撤并至廣(guang)寧中學(xue),成為(wei)(wei)學(xue)校(xiao)初中部,2007年(nian)(nian)2月初中部分離(li);2003年(nian)(nian)廣(guang)寧縣(xian)實驗中學(xue)撤并至廣(guang)寧中學(xue),成為(wei)(wei)學(xue)校(xiao)東校(xiao)區,2007年(nian)(nian)7月東校(xiao)區分離(li)。
