吳川(chuan)市(shi)振文中(zhong)(zhong)學(xue)創辦于1958年,是(shi)該市(shi)一(yi)(yi)所(suo)規模較(jiao)大的市(shi)一(yi)(yi)級中(zhong)(zhong)學(xue)。學(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)坐落吳川(chuan)市(shi)振文鎮,與市(shi)區近(jin)一(yi)(yi)河之隔(ge),交(jiao)通便利。學(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)綠樹成蔭,環境(jing)優雅,校(xiao)(xiao)園綠化(hua)、美(mei)化(hua)、凈化(hua)、布局合理。學(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)有教(jiao)學(xue)班(ban)36個(其(qi)中(zhong)(zhong)高中(zhong)(zhong)部十(shi)二個,初中(zhong)(zhong)二十(shi)四個),學(xue)生兩千(qian)六左右人(ren),教(jiao)職(zhi)工112人(ren)(其(qi)中(zhong)(zhong)有來自江西、湖(hu)南、四川(chuan)等地(di)二十(shi)多人(ren))。

吳川歷來地脊民貧,1879年(nian),彭玉(yu)看到(dao)家鄉沒(mei)有書院(yuan)(yuan)(yuan),人才(cai)凋敝(bi),為了(le)改善家鄉的落后(hou)面前(qian)。他便創(chuang)沒(mei)設鎮(振)文圩,帶頭捐(juan)款興(xing)建義(yi)倉書院(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)(后(hou)改為鎮文書院(yuan)(yuan)(yuan))。彭玉(yu)用實際行動證(zheng)明(ming)了(le)他起熱愛家鄉,回報家鄉的真實情結,這種(zhong)家鄉的情結還深深影響了(le)他后(hou)人。
