據(ju)廟(miao)內元(yuan)元(yuan)統二年(nian)(1334)重修(xiu)(xiu)碑記載(zai),該廟(miao)創建(jian)于(yu)隋代(dai),北宋初重建(jian)圣母殿,建(jian)中(zhong)靖國元(yuan)年(nian)(1101)重修(xiu)(xiu)。明崇禎五年(nian)(1632)進行(xing)了建(jian)廟(miao)以來(lai)規模(mo)大的一次(ci)維(wei)修(xiu)(xiu)。清代(dai)乃至(zhi)民(min)國年(nian)間亦多次(ci)修(xiu)(xiu)繕。
廟(miao)座北向南(nan),為一進(jin)院。南(nan)北較(jiao)短,東西較(jiao)寬。前有(you)山門戲樓,中(zhong)為獻亭,北為圣母殿。兩則(ze)配以耳(er)殿。
東(dong)(dong)西院(yuan)現存(cun)李靖王殿(dian)、三宮殿(dian)、閻(yan)君殿(dian)、十(shi)帥殿(dian)、關(guan)公殿(dian)、子孫(sun)殿(dian)及(ji)梳妝樓等建筑。殿(dian)宇錯落有(you)致,殿(dian)頂(ding)形制各異。廟南(nan)、北(bei)、西三面(mian)(mian)懸(xuan)壁劈立,溝壑(he)縱橫,東(dong)(dong)面(mian)(mian)與場院(yuan)相連。山(shan)門(men)戲(xi)樓之(zhi)前為(wei)(wei)一條形平臺(tai),臺(tai)下為(wei)(wei)青(qing)(qing)(qing)石(shi)(shi)拱券的三孔石(shi)(shi)窯,南(nan)向排列,67級青(qing)(qing)(qing)石(shi)(shi)踏(ta)跺呈45°斜面(mian)(mian)壘砌(qi)而上,可直達山(shan)門(men)。山(shan)門(men)門(men)洞為(wei)(wei)青(qing)(qing)(qing)磚拱券而成,門(men)上出抱廈形懸(xuan)檐,筒板瓦(wa)裝(zhuang)(zhuang)修。既是(shi)裝(zhuang)(zhuang)飾構(gou)件(jian),又有(you)遮(zhe)雨避日之(zhi)功效。山(shan)門(men)門(men)道從戲(xi)樓底層明(ming)間開(kai)通,底層兩(liang)次間為(wei)(wei)封(feng)閉式隔間。戲(xi)樓面(mian)(mian)闊三間,進深四(si)架椽,單檐歇山(shan)頂(ding)。圓(yuan)柱方額,斗(dou)拱華麗(li),始建于北(bei)宋建中(zhong)靖國年間。拜亭(ting)(ting)位居圣母殿(dian)與舞樓之(zhi)間。高臺(tai)筑亭(ting)(ting),四(si)周(zhou)青(qing)(qing)(qing)石(shi)(shi)壘砌(qi),東(dong)(dong)西南(nan)三面(mian)(mian)出臺(tai)明(ming),設(she)踏(ta)跺。亭(ting)(ting)面(mian)(mian)闊三間,進深五間,廡殿(dian)頂(ding)建筑。亭(ting)(ting)內(nei)徹上露(lu)明(ming)造,梁(liang)架裝(zhuang)(zhuang)修等全部構(gou)件(jian)均為(wei)(wei)裸露(lu)。石(shi)(shi)柱圓(yuan)梁(liang),為(wei)(wei)原(yuan)始材料(liao)砍制后而使用,尚保留元(yuan)代建筑風格(ge)。亭(ting)(ting)頂(ding)灰脊灰獸,筒板布瓦(wa)裝(zhuang)(zhuang)修。
這種廡殿(dian)(dian)(dian)頂(ding)的(de)建(jian)筑(zhu)。圣母殿(dian)(dian)(dian)居拜亭之后,高臺筑(zhu)殿(dian)(dian)(dian),廣深(shen)各三間,平(ping)(ping)面近(jin)方(fang)形(xing),單(dan)檐九脊頂(ding)。柱(zhu)礎覆(fu)盆(pen)式(shi)(shi),蓮瓣雕刻較大(da),檐柱(zhu)側角升起較為(wei)明顯(xian),梁架斗拱用材碩大(da),批(pi)竹(zhu)式(shi)(shi)真昂承托梁架負荷,五抹頭麻葉形(xing)隔扇,破直(zhi)棱(leng)窗(chuang)(chuang)裝修,顯(xian)得十分(fen)古樸雄渾。殿(dian)(dian)(dian)頂(ding)滿覆(fu)琉璃(li)脊獸,筒板(ban)布瓦(wa)、琉璃(li)剪邊,舉折平(ping)(ping)緩。出(chu)檐深(shen)遠,四(si)翼而飛。雖經元、明、清歷代重修,仍不失(shi)宋代建(jian)筑(zhu)風格。東(dong)院梳妝樓(lou),坐東(dong)向西,廣、深(shen)各三間,二層四(si)檐支出(chu)平(ping)(ping)座(zuo),木制欄桿圍欄,四(si)面隔扇門(men)窗(chuang)(chuang)裝修,明間辟門(men),次間破直(zhi)棱(leng)窗(chuang)(chuang),雕梁畫棟,玲(ling)瓏剔透。重檐歇山式(shi)(shi)屋頂(ding),華麗(li)挺拔(ba),引人注目,是明代樓(lou)閣式(shi)(shi)建(jian)筑(zhu)。其余殿(dian)(dian)(dian)宇多為(wei)三間面寬,懸山式(shi)(shi)形(xing)制,屬(shu)元明清時期的(de)遺物。
廟內現(xian)存(cun)宋(song)(song)(song)、元(yuan)、明(ming)、清(qing)及(ji)(ji)(ji)民(min)國年間重(zhong)修(xiu)碑(bei)20余通,大多豎(shu)立于拜亭之內。碑(bei)文內容大都記載(zai)(zai)了創修(xiu)、增建(jian)及(ji)(ji)(ji)重(zhong)修(xiu)廟堂的歷史(shi)沿革和主(zhu)要事宜。值得引(yin)起(qi)重(zhong)視的是(shi)(shi):宋(song)(song)(song)、元(yuan)、明(ming)、清(qing)四朝建(jian)筑集于一(yi)廟,國內現(xian)存(cun)的古代建(jian)筑中為數不(bu)多,實屬珍貴。二是(shi)(shi)北宋(song)(song)(song)建(jian)中靖國元(yuan)年(1101)重(zhong)修(xiu)碑(bei)中記載(zai)(zai),在(zai)宋(song)(song)(song)代重(zhong)修(xiu)圣(sheng)母殿(dian)的同(tong)時就(jiu)創建(jian)了舞(wu)樓。這(zhe)說明(ming)在(zai)宋(song)(song)(song)代戲(xi)(xi)劇(ju)藝術(shu)和舞(wu)蹈藝術(shu)就(jiu)已(yi)經發展(zhan)到了一(yi)定的程度,并(bing)且與宗教文化的發展(zhan)結合在(zai)一(yi)起(qi),互為依存(cun),共同(tong)發展(zhan)。記載(zai)(zai)戲(xi)(xi)劇(ju)舞(wu)臺(tai)的碑(bei)刻(ke),在(zai)我(wo)省及(ji)(ji)(ji)國內極為少(shao)見(jian)。目(mu)前所知(zhi)除沁縣(xian)城(cheng)內關帝廟宋(song)(song)(song)代建(jian)起(qi)戲(xi)(xi)臺(tai)的記載(zai)(zai)外(wai),就(jiu)數平順九(jiu)天(tian)圣(sheng)母廟了。三是(shi)(shi)獻亭作(zuo)廡殿(dian)頂形制(zhi)的也尚(shang)屬少(shao)見(jian),這(zhe)是(shi)(shi)超(chao)規模(mo)的設計(ji)與安排。九(jiu)天(tian)圣(sheng)母廟,作(zuo)為山西省重(zhong)點(dian)文物(wu)保護(hu)單位之一(yi),具有重(zhong)要的保護(hu)與研究價值。
