據(ju)廟內元元統二年(nian)(nian)(1334)重(zhong)(zhong)修(xiu)碑記載,該廟創建(jian)于隋代(dai),北(bei)宋初(chu)重(zhong)(zhong)建(jian)圣母(mu)殿,建(jian)中靖(jing)國元年(nian)(nian)(1101)重(zhong)(zhong)修(xiu)。明崇禎五年(nian)(nian)(1632)進(jin)行了建(jian)廟以來規(gui)模大的一次維修(xiu)。清代(dai)乃(nai)至民國年(nian)(nian)間亦多次修(xiu)繕。
廟(miao)座北(bei)向南,為一(yi)進院。南北(bei)較短,東西較寬(kuan)。前(qian)有(you)山門戲樓,中為獻亭,北(bei)為圣母殿。兩則配(pei)以耳殿。
東(dong)(dong)西院(yuan)現存李靖王殿(dian)(dian)(dian)、三(san)宮(gong)殿(dian)(dian)(dian)、閻君殿(dian)(dian)(dian)、十帥殿(dian)(dian)(dian)、關公(gong)殿(dian)(dian)(dian)、子孫殿(dian)(dian)(dian)及梳妝樓(lou)等(deng)(deng)建(jian)筑(zhu)。殿(dian)(dian)(dian)宇錯落(luo)有(you)致,殿(dian)(dian)(dian)頂形制各異。廟南(nan)、北、西三(san)面懸壁(bi)劈立,溝壑縱橫,東(dong)(dong)面與場(chang)院(yuan)相連。山門(men)戲樓(lou)之前為(wei)(wei)一條形平臺(tai),臺(tai)下為(wei)(wei)青(qing)(qing)石拱(gong)券的三(san)孔石窯,南(nan)向排列,67級青(qing)(qing)石踏(ta)跺呈45°斜面壘(lei)砌(qi)而上,可直(zhi)達山門(men)。山門(men)門(men)洞為(wei)(wei)青(qing)(qing)磚拱(gong)券而成,門(men)上出抱(bao)廈形懸檐,筒(tong)板瓦(wa)裝修(xiu)。既(ji)是(shi)裝飾構件,又有(you)遮雨避日之功效。山門(men)門(men)道(dao)從戲樓(lou)底(di)層(ceng)明(ming)間(jian)(jian)開通,底(di)層(ceng)兩(liang)次間(jian)(jian)為(wei)(wei)封閉(bi)式隔間(jian)(jian)。戲樓(lou)面闊(kuo)三(san)間(jian)(jian),進深四架椽,單檐歇山頂。圓(yuan)(yuan)柱方額,斗拱(gong)華麗,始(shi)建(jian)于北宋建(jian)中靖國年間(jian)(jian)。拜亭(ting)位(wei)居圣(sheng)母殿(dian)(dian)(dian)與舞(wu)樓(lou)之間(jian)(jian)。高臺(tai)筑(zhu)亭(ting),四周青(qing)(qing)石壘(lei)砌(qi),東(dong)(dong)西南(nan)三(san)面出臺(tai)明(ming),設踏(ta)跺。亭(ting)面闊(kuo)三(san)間(jian)(jian),進深五間(jian)(jian),廡殿(dian)(dian)(dian)頂建(jian)筑(zhu)。亭(ting)內徹(che)上露明(ming)造,梁架裝修(xiu)等(deng)(deng)全部構件均(jun)為(wei)(wei)裸露。石柱圓(yuan)(yuan)梁,為(wei)(wei)原始(shi)材(cai)料砍制后而使用,尚保留(liu)元(yuan)代建(jian)筑(zhu)風(feng)格。亭(ting)頂灰脊(ji)灰獸,筒(tong)板布(bu)瓦(wa)裝修(xiu)。
這(zhe)種廡(wu)殿頂的建(jian)筑(zhu)。圣母(mu)殿居拜(bai)亭之后,高臺筑(zhu)殿,廣深(shen)各三間(jian)(jian),平(ping)面近方形(xing),單檐(yan)九脊(ji)頂。柱(zhu)礎覆(fu)盆式,蓮瓣(ban)雕刻較大(da),檐(yan)柱(zhu)側角升起較為明(ming)顯,梁架斗拱用(yong)材碩大(da),批竹式真昂承托梁架負荷,五(wu)抹頭麻葉形(xing)隔(ge)扇(shan),破(po)直棱窗裝(zhuang)修(xiu),顯得十分古樸雄(xiong)渾。殿頂滿覆(fu)琉(liu)(liu)璃脊(ji)獸,筒板布瓦、琉(liu)(liu)璃剪邊,舉折平(ping)緩。出(chu)檐(yan)深(shen)遠,四翼而飛(fei)。雖經元、明(ming)、清歷(li)代重修(xiu),仍不(bu)失宋代建(jian)筑(zhu)風(feng)格。東院(yuan)梳妝樓(lou)(lou),坐東向西(xi),廣、深(shen)各三間(jian)(jian),二層(ceng)四檐(yan)支出(chu)平(ping)座,木制(zhi)欄(lan)桿圍(wei)欄(lan),四面隔(ge)扇(shan)門(men)窗裝(zhuang)修(xiu),明(ming)間(jian)(jian)辟門(men),次間(jian)(jian)破(po)直棱窗,雕梁畫棟,玲(ling)瓏剔(ti)透。重檐(yan)歇山(shan)式屋頂,華麗挺(ting)拔,引人(ren)注(zhu)目,是明(ming)代樓(lou)(lou)閣式建(jian)筑(zhu)。其余殿宇多(duo)為三間(jian)(jian)面寬,懸山(shan)式形(xing)制(zhi),屬元明(ming)清時期的遺物。
廟(miao)內現存宋(song)(song)、元、明(ming)、清及(ji)民(min)國(guo)年間(jian)重修碑20余(yu)通,大(da)多豎立(li)于拜亭之(zhi)內。碑文(wen)內容(rong)大(da)都(dou)記(ji)(ji)載(zai)了創(chuang)修、增(zeng)建(jian)及(ji)重修廟(miao)堂的(de)(de)(de)歷(li)史沿革(ge)和(he)主要事宜。值得引起重視的(de)(de)(de)是(shi)(shi)(shi):宋(song)(song)、元、明(ming)、清四朝建(jian)筑集于一(yi)廟(miao),國(guo)內現存的(de)(de)(de)古代建(jian)筑中(zhong)為(wei)(wei)數不多,實屬(shu)珍貴。二是(shi)(shi)(shi)北(bei)宋(song)(song)建(jian)中(zhong)靖(jing)國(guo)元年(1101)重修碑中(zhong)記(ji)(ji)載(zai),在宋(song)(song)代重修圣母(mu)(mu)殿的(de)(de)(de)同時就(jiu)創(chuang)建(jian)了舞樓。這說(shuo)明(ming)在宋(song)(song)代戲(xi)劇藝術和(he)舞蹈(dao)藝術就(jiu)已(yi)經發(fa)(fa)展到了一(yi)定的(de)(de)(de)程度(du),并且與(yu)宗(zong)教文(wen)化的(de)(de)(de)發(fa)(fa)展結合在一(yi)起,互(hu)為(wei)(wei)依(yi)存,共(gong)同發(fa)(fa)展。記(ji)(ji)載(zai)戲(xi)劇舞臺的(de)(de)(de)碑刻,在我省(sheng)及(ji)國(guo)內極為(wei)(wei)少(shao)見。目(mu)前(qian)所知(zhi)除沁縣城內關帝廟(miao)宋(song)(song)代建(jian)起戲(xi)臺的(de)(de)(de)記(ji)(ji)載(zai)外,就(jiu)數平順九(jiu)天(tian)(tian)圣母(mu)(mu)廟(miao)了。三是(shi)(shi)(shi)獻(xian)亭作廡殿頂(ding)形(xing)制的(de)(de)(de)也(ye)尚屬(shu)少(shao)見,這是(shi)(shi)(shi)超規(gui)模的(de)(de)(de)設(she)計與(yu)安排。九(jiu)天(tian)(tian)圣母(mu)(mu)廟(miao),作為(wei)(wei)山西省(sheng)重點文(wen)物保護單位之(zhi)一(yi),具(ju)有重要的(de)(de)(de)保護與(yu)研究(jiu)價值。
