學(xue)校(xiao)精心培養新教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)師(shi)和青(qing)年(nian)(nian)教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)師(shi),始終按(an)照“政治上(shang)愛護,工(gong)作(zuo)(zuo)上(shang)扶持,生活(huo)上(shang)關心”和“教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)育與管理并行,培養與使用(yong)兼顧”的(de)工(gong)作(zuo)(zuo)思路(lu),推行《煙臺三(san)中青(qing)年(nian)(nian)教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)師(shi)培養工(gong)作(zuo)(zuo)實(shi)施(shi)方案》。學(xue)校(xiao)通(tong)過(guo)聽(ting)課(ke)、評課(ke)、觀摩教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)學(xue)、輔導(dao)講(jiang)座等(deng)形式,采取與老教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)師(shi)結對子(zi)、兩筆字考評、總(zong)結表(biao)彰等(deng)措(cuo)施(shi),提高他們的(de)業務能力和教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)學(xue)水平。同時,對于師(shi)德好、業務精的(de)青(qing)年(nian)(nian)教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)師(shi)大膽使用(yong),通(tong)過(guo)安排其擔任教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)研(yan)組長、班主任和獨立承擔優(you)質課(ke)、教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)改實(shi)驗課(ke)題等(deng),促(cu)使其自我加壓,盡快成長成熟(shu)。

校(xiao)、全國體(ti)育傳統項目(mu)先進(jin)學(xue)校(xiao)、山(shan)東(dong)省(sheng)教書(shu)育人先進(jin)集體(ti)、山(shan)東(dong)省(sheng)電化教育示范學(xue)校(xiao)、山(shan)東(dong)省(sheng)科(ke)普示范學(xue)校(xiao)、山(shan)東(dong)省(sheng)奧林(lin)匹克競賽金牌學(xue)校(xiao)、煙臺市(shi)優生培養先進(jin)高中、煙臺市(shi)明星(xing)學(xue)校(xiao)等。原國務院副(fu)總理李(li)嵐(lan)清(qing)視(shi)察三中時曾說:“這(zhe)里(li)是個(ge)讀書(shu)的(de)好地方”。
煙臺三中這顆膠(jiao)東半島的璀(cui)璨(can)明珠,以美麗的校(xiao)園、良好的校(xiao)風、有(you)序的管理、上乘的質量贏得了社會各界(jie)人(ren)士(shi)的贊譽。
在郭(guo)宏成校長多(duo)年的(de)(de)正(zheng)確領導下,復色陽光教育蒸蒸日上(shang),德智體全面發展已經成為全校師生的(de)(de)發展方向,我校越(yue)來越(yue)重視同學(xue)思想覺(jue)(jue)悟和優勢的(de)(de)發揚,并(bing)有孫洪財(cai),常春燕,吳愛清,黃孔娥,李(li)立秋等一大(da)批優秀(xiu)教師的(de)(de)帶領,學(xue)生思想覺(jue)(jue)悟及道德素(su)養都在較高(gao)的(de)(de)水平(ping)。
煙臺(tai)第三中(zhong)學(xue)正式(shi)命名于1952年9月12日。原校址在煙臺(tai)山(shan)東(dong)側海(hai)岸(an)路26號(現煙臺(tai)山(shan)賓館院(yuan)內)。
1954年(nian)(nian),為(wei)發(fa)(fa)展中(zhong)學(xue)(xue)教(jiao)育,煙臺(tai)(tai)市人民政(zheng)府決定擴建三中(zhong)校(xiao)(xiao)舍(she),在大海陽(yang)河西(xi)邊建立了煙臺(tai)(tai)三中(zhong)新校(xiao)(xiao)舍(she)。三中(zhong)由煙臺(tai)(tai)山遷(qian)入新校(xiao)(xiao)舍(she)。由此,三中(zhong)成為(wei)一(yi)所(suo)完全(quan)中(zhong)學(xue)(xue)。 多年(nian)(nian)來,學(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)制定了整體發(fa)(fa)展目(mu)(mu)標和各職能部門的質量(liang)目(mu)(mu)標,以目(mu)(mu)標管理來調(diao)動教(jiao)職員工各項(xiang)工作的積極性。同年(nian)(nian),學(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)制定了“三五(wu)”規劃(hua),即用三個五(wu)年(nian)(nian)時間(jian),躋身于區、市、省一(yi)流(liu)學(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)的行列。在第一(yi)個五(wu)年(nian)(nian)規劃(hua)期(qi)間(jian),學(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)實現了創全(quan)區一(yi)流(liu)學(xue)(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)的整體目(mu)(mu)標。
1993年4月,學(xue)校被山東省(sheng)教育廳(ting)命名為首(shou)批省(sheng)級規范(fan)化(hua)學(xue)校,基本上實現(xian)了(le)省(sheng)、市(shi)、區(qu)一流學(xue)校的目標。
1994年12月,學(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)把創辦(ban)現代(dai)(dai)化(hua)的學(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)當(dang)作頭等大事來抓。學(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)集資50萬,在(zai)全市率先為(wei)學(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)的高中班建成一套現代(dai)(dai)化(hua)的雙(shuang)向(xiang)閉路電視系(xi)統,每個(ge)教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)室(shi)(shi)配有一部彩電,一部攝像(xiang)機(ji),為(wei)現代(dai)(dai)化(hua)教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)學(xue)奠(dian)定了基礎(chu)。之后(hou)學(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)又(you)相繼興建了新(xin)的辦(ban)公樓(lou)(lou)、實驗(yan)(yan)樓(lou)(lou)、教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)學(xue)樓(lou)(lou)、圖書(shu)科技樓(lou)(lou)、學(xue)生(sheng)公寓、市內體育(yu)(yu)館、塑膠田徑(jing)操場(chang)等,這(zhe)以后(hou)又(you)建起(qi)了微機(ji)室(shi)(shi)、語音室(shi)(shi)、電教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)室(shi)(shi)、電教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)備課室(shi)(shi)、校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)長辦(ban)公自動(dong)化(hua)系(xi)統。同年3月我(wo)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)被國家教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)育(yu)(yu)部評(ping)為(wei)2000年現代(dai)(dai)教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)育(yu)(yu)技術實驗(yan)(yan)學(xue)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)。隨著教(jiao)(jiao)(jiao)育(yu)(yu)形式(shi)的發(fa)展,我(wo)校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)又(you)投入大量資金創辦(ban)了校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)園(yuan)網(wang)絡中心、校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)園(yuan)網(wang)站(zhan)、校(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)(xiao)園(yuan)電視演播室(shi)(shi)。
2001年(nian) 2001年(nian),學校在原四(si)職專校址(zhi)設(she)立分校。實行全(quan)日制(zhi)寄宿式封閉(bi)管理,教師與學生(sheng)“同吃、同住(zhu)、同學習、同生(sheng)活”。至此,三(san)中已成(cheng)為全(quan)市(shi)一(yi)流、設(she)施先進(jin)、環境優美、管理完(wan)(wan)善的(de)完(wan)(wan)全(quan)中學。
2012年,學校成(cheng)功舉(ju)辦60年校慶(qing),在社會上引起強烈反響。
2015年,搬遷(qian)至新校區。
