《觀世音菩薩普門品》,原是《妙法蓮華經》里的一經品,由于觀世音信仰傳入中國日益盛行,所以經文從漢文譯本內抽出來,成為便于受持讀誦的單行經品本。經文的原本,在漢文譯本如晉竺法護的《正法華經》、姚秦鳩摩羅什法師的《妙法蓮華經》等中,此品全都是長行品。直到隋代阇那崛多和笈多補譯的《添品法華經》,此品才有了重頌,這和比較晚出的梵文本和藏文譯本《觀世音菩薩普門品》相一致(梵、藏本比隋譯還要多出七個頌)。

觀世音信仰很(hen)早就流行(xing)(xing)于西域,而且歷(li)久不衰。因此,近人還在中國新疆吐魯番發現了回鶻文(wen)和古代突厥(jue)文(wen)的(de)《普門品》譯(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)本(ben)。其回鶻文(wen)本(ben)由拉(la)德洛夫校(xiao)刊(kan)并翻成(cheng)德文(wen),作為俄國的(de)《佛教文(wen)庫(ku)》第十四種(zhong)(zhong),1911年(nian)在圣(sheng)彼得堡(bao)刊(kan)行(xing)(xing)。此外,有意大(da)利文(wen)重譯(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)本(ben)(依漢譯(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)本(ben)重譯(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi))。還有日本(ben)渡邊(bian)照宏、長(chang)澤實導的(de)兩種(zhong)(zhong)日文(wen)譯(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)本(ben)(1935、1940、依梵本(ben)翻譯(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi))。

妙法蓮華(hua)經(jing)觀世音菩薩普門(men)品終

【妙法蓮華經】

妙(miao)法蓮華(hua)(hua)經(jing)(jing)(jing),是(shi)(shi)(shi)一(yi)經(jing)(jing)(jing)的(de)總題(ti)。觀(guan)世音菩薩(sa)普門(men)品(pin)(pin)(pin),是(shi)(shi)(shi)一(yi)品(pin)(pin)(pin)之(zhi)(zhi)別(bie)目(mu)。姚秦三藏法師(shi)鳩摩羅什譯,是(shi)(shi)(shi)譯題(ti)。先講(jiang)總題(ti),次釋別(bie)目(mu),再(zai)講(jiang)譯題(ti)。現所講(jiang)經(jing)(jing)(jing),是(shi)(shi)(shi)微妙(miao)之(zhi)(zhi)法,難遭難遇,不輕容易聽(ting)到的(de)。諸位很踴躍的(de)來聽(ting),這是(shi)(shi)(shi)很好的(de),但聽(ting)時,無論懂與(yu)不懂,都應當恭(gong)敬寂(ji)靜,誠(cheng)意的(de)聽(ting)。懂固然得到妙(miao)法的(de)益處,即是(shi)(shi)(shi)不懂,亦只(zhi)要具至(zhi)誠(cheng)恭(gong)敬心(xin),亦可(ke)得莫大(da)(da)之(zhi)(zhi)利益。因(yin)(yin)聽(ting)經(jing)(jing)(jing)功德不可(ke)量(liang)故(gu),所以(yi)大(da)(da)家要發慈(ci)悲心(xin)、殷重(zhong)心(xin),于寂(ji)靜中聽(ting)經(jing)(jing)(jing),必能(neng)領受其中妙(miao)道,而津津有(you)(you)味。否則,就(jiu)領會不到了!普門(men)品(pin)(pin)(pin),雖是(shi)(shi)(shi)法華(hua)(hua)經(jing)(jing)(jing)中之(zhi)(zhi)一(yi)品(pin)(pin)(pin),然可(ke)代表全(quan)經(jing)(jing)(jing),因(yin)(yin)皆是(shi)(shi)(shi)不可(ke)思(si)議的(de)妙(miao)法故(gu)。法華(hua)(hua)經(jing)(jing)(jing)共有(you)(you)七(qi)卷(juan)二(er)十八品(pin)(pin)(pin),觀(guan)世音普門(men)品(pin)(pin)(pin),是(shi)(shi)(shi)第二(er)十五品(pin)(pin)(pin),既非全(quan)經(jing)(jing)(jing),何以(yi)此(ci)(ci)品(pin)(pin)(pin)單行呢(ni)?因(yin)(yin)有(you)(you)非常靈感故(gu)。當初晉末北涼沮渠蒙遜(xun)病篤,醫藥罔效(xiao),曇無讖尊者謂此(ci)(ci)是(shi)(shi)(shi)業障病,必念法華(hua)(hua)經(jing)(jing)(jing)的(de)普門(men)品(pin)(pin)(pin),即可(ke)痊愈。蒙遜(xun)依(yi)之(zhi)(zhi)持誦,未數日(ri),其病果(guo)瘥(chai)。因(yin)(yin)此(ci)(ci)單行流通,而各處講(jiang)解甚(shen)多。因(yin)(yin)觀(guan)世音菩薩(sa)是(shi)(shi)(shi)大(da)(da)慈(ci)大(da)(da)悲,救苦救難,廣大(da)(da)靈感,與(yu)我娑婆世界的(de)眾(zhong)(zhong)生,緣(yuan)深(shen)緣(yuan)熟故(gu),無人不知曉,無人不恭(gong)敬的(de)。并(bing)且(qie)有(you)(you)許(xu)多人,感到廣大(da)(da)之(zhi)(zhi)靈驗(yan),所以(yi)今天聽(ting)眾(zhong)(zhong)異常踴躍,連袂而來。又(you)本林因(yin)(yin)二(er)月十九觀(guan)音誕期(qi)將屆,請講(jiang)普門(men)品(pin)(pin)(pin),誠(cheng)為應時應機之(zhi)(zhi)教,有(you)(you)體(ti)有(you)(you)用有(you)(you)事有(you)(you)理(li)之(zhi)(zhi)法。

既欲講經,必(bi)先釋(shi)題(ti)。茲先講"妙法(fa)蓮(lian)華(hua)(hua)經"五字,妙法(fa)蓮(lian)華(hua)(hua)經,以法(fa)喻立(li)題(ti)。佛經有七種立(li)題(ti),所謂單三(san)復三(san)具(ju)足一(yi)。

單三者:

(一(yi))單人,如佛說阿(a)彌陀經。

(二)單法,如(ru)涅(nie)盤經、般(ban)若(ruo)經。

(三)單喻(yu),如梵網(wang)經、瓔珞經。

復三者:

(一)人法,如地藏(zang)菩(pu)薩本愿經。

(二)人喻,如如來師子吼經。

(三(san))法喻(yu),如妙(miao)法蓮華經。

具(ju)足一(yi)者:如(ru)大方廣(guang)佛(fo)華嚴經(jing)。本經(jing)屬法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)喻立題,妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)是(shi)(shi)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa),蓮華是(shi)(shi)喻。因妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)難解,借蓮華為喻。妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)者,其法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)妙(miao)(miao)不可言。法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)是(shi)(shi)什(shen)么呢?所(suo)謂山河大地,世界國土,依正果報(bao),世出世法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa),色法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)心(xin)(xin)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa),雖萬象森(sen)嚴,然要(yao)言之(zhi)(zhi),不外佛(fo)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)、心(xin)(xin)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)、眾生法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)三種。這三種法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa),原(yuan)無(wu)差(cha)別,故稱妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)。何以無(wu)差(cha)別呢?請(qing)先明我(wo)人之(zhi)(zhi)心(xin)(xin)在哪里。常(chang)人不明,恒將胸腔內(nei)的心(xin)(xin),指為吾人之(zhi)(zhi)心(xin)(xin),其實這是(shi)(shi)五臟之(zhi)(zhi)心(xin)(xin),非真(zhen)心(xin)(xin)呀!因這種心(xin)(xin),是(shi)(shi)肉(rou)團心(xin)(xin),又是(shi)(shi)集起心(xin)(xin)、分別心(xin)(xin)、妄(wang)想心(xin)(xin)。一(yi)旦(dan)死(si)后(hou)腐(fu)化,就不能思(si)量分別,是(shi)(shi)緣慮心(xin)(xin)故,不是(shi)(shi)我(wo)人的真(zhen)心(xin)(xin)。

須(xu)知(zhi)(zhi)我人的真心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin),是遍虛(xu)空(kong)(kong),包法(fa)(fa)界(jie)。楞嚴所(suo)謂十(shi)方(fang)虛(xu)空(kong)(kong),在我心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)內,如同片云點太清。試看一(yi)切萬(wan)法(fa)(fa),皆(jie)從(cong)(cong)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)生(sheng)(sheng),所(suo)謂心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)生(sheng)(sheng)則種(zhong)種(zhong)法(fa)(fa)生(sheng)(sheng),心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)滅則種(zhong)種(zhong)法(fa)(fa)滅,上至四圣,下至天堂地獄(yu),皆(jie)從(cong)(cong)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)所(suo)有(you),可(ke)知(zhi)(zhi)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)外(wai)無(wu)法(fa)(fa),心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)即(ji)(ji)(ji)是萬(wan)法(fa)(fa)之(zhi)本體。如明白了這個道理(li),則心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)悟妙理(li)虛(xu)空(kong)(kong)小(xiao),故(gu)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)法(fa)(fa)甚妙,叫(jiao)做(zuo)妙法(fa)(fa)。又須(xu)知(zhi)(zhi)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)中惡念(nian)起,即(ji)(ji)(ji)僅一(yi)念(nian)生(sheng)(sheng)滅,已是變成地獄(yu)、餓鬼、畜生(sheng)(sheng)三(san)(san)惡道之(zhi)因。一(yi)善念(nian)生(sheng)(sheng),便生(sheng)(sheng)天人阿修羅(luo)三(san)(san)善道。念(nian)空(kong)(kong),便成二乘。念(nian)慈悲平等(deng),即(ji)(ji)(ji)成佛菩薩。所(suo)謂十(shi)方(fang)世(shi)界(jie),都從(cong)(cong)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)有(you)。以(yi)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)具十(shi)法(fa)(fa)界(jie)故(gu),事理(li)不二故(gu),理(li)具事造皆(jie)在一(yi)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)故(gu),所(suo)以(yi)佛界(jie)眾生(sheng)(sheng)界(jie),均在心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)內,包羅(luo)萬(wan)象,有(you)不可(ke)思議之(zhi)妙。若用分別心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)即(ji)(ji)(ji)非,所(suo)謂舉(ju)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)即(ji)(ji)(ji)錯,動念(nian)即(ji)(ji)(ji)乖,思不到,尋不著,如能識得此心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin),大地無(wu)寸土。

如(ru)今天(tian)(tian)(tian)這樣盛大的(de)(de)講經法會,其始也(ye)是(shi)(shi)因為林(lin)內主持人(ren)(ren)的(de)(de)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)一(yi)動,就有(you)(you)(you)了(le)這么大的(de)(de)法會。又如(ru)飛機輪船火車,一(yi)切萬(wan)物(wu),何嘗不皆(jie)由心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)生而有(you)(you)(you)呢?這便可證明心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)力不可思(si)議,心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)包太虛(xu),量周(zhou)沙界。故釋迦(jia)彌陀(tuo),皆(jie)我心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)造(zao);三(san)乘圣人(ren)(ren),亦我心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)造(zao);六道眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)生,亦莫不皆(jie)然。所以眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)生,是(shi)(shi)十(shi)(shi)方諸(zhu)佛(fo)(fo)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)內的(de)(de)眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)生;十(shi)(shi)方諸(zhu)佛(fo)(fo),是(shi)(shi)眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)生心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)內的(de)(de)諸(zhu)佛(fo)(fo)。觀音,是(shi)(shi)眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)生心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)內的(de)(de)觀音;眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)生,是(shi)(shi)觀音心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)內的(de)(de)眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)生。所謂是(shi)(shi)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)是(shi)(shi)佛(fo)(fo),是(shi)(shi)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)作(zuo)佛(fo)(fo);是(shi)(shi)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)是(shi)(shi)菩薩,是(shi)(shi)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)作(zuo)菩薩。只要有(you)(you)(you)修(xiu)有(you)(you)(you)作(zuo),皆(jie)可成(cheng)佛(fo)(fo)成(cheng)菩薩了(le),故曰(yue)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)妙。若(ruo)迷昧本(ben)(ben)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin),便為天(tian)(tian)(tian)、人(ren)(ren)、阿修(xiu)羅、地(di)獄(yu)(yu)、鬼、畜生六道眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)生。所謂心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)具(ju)地(di)獄(yu)(yu),心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)造(zao)地(di)獄(yu)(yu),心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)具(ju)天(tian)(tian)(tian)堂(tang)(tang),心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)造(zao)天(tian)(tian)(tian)堂(tang)(tang),鬼畜等亦莫不皆(jie)然。天(tian)(tian)(tian)堂(tang)(tang)地(di)獄(yu)(yu),既皆(jie)由自(zi)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)造(zao)作(zuo),故曰(yue)心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)法妙。眾(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)生身(shen)(shen)口意三(san)業(ye),無非煩(fan)(fan)惱(nao)作(zuo)業(ye),以致受生死(si)輪回之(zhi)果報。然煩(fan)(fan)惱(nao)本(ben)(ben)空,即是(shi)(shi)了(le)因佛(fo)(fo)性。煩(fan)(fan)惱(nao)原是(shi)(shi)智(zhi)(zhi)慧,因錯(cuo)用其心(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin)(xin),將(jiang)智(zhi)(zhi)慧翻作(zuo)煩(fan)(fan)惱(nao)。智(zhi)(zhi)慧從何而來(lai)?煩(fan)(fan)惱(nao)之(zhi)體,即是(shi)(shi)智(zhi)(zhi)慧,不須外求。身(shen)(shen)口意可造(zao)十(shi)(shi)惡,亦可做十(shi)(shi)善(shan)。

楞嚴所謂生(sheng)(sheng)死(si)輪(lun)回,安樂妙常,唯此六根,更(geng)無(wu)他物。吾人(ren)本性,本是(shi)(shi)不(bu)生(sheng)(sheng)不(bu)滅(mie)(mie),但以虛妄因緣(yuan)和合(he)而生(sheng)(sheng),因緣(yuan)別(bie)離虛妄而滅(mie)(mie)。是(shi)(shi)知從緣(yuan)而生(sheng)(sheng),即(ji)是(shi)(shi)不(bu)生(sheng)(sheng);從緣(yuan)而滅(mie)(mie),即(ji)是(shi)(shi)不(bu)滅(mie)(mie)。故作(zuo)業原(yuan)是(shi)(shi)解(jie)脫(tuo),生(sheng)(sheng)滅(mie)(mie)即(ji)是(shi)(shi)法(fa)(fa)身。故釋(shi)迦牟尼(ni)佛(fo)(fo),最(zui)初成道時(shi),即(ji)云:"奇(qi)哉(zai),奇(qi)哉(zai)!一切眾(zhong)(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng),皆有如來智慧德相,但由妄想執著(zhu)而不(bu)證得。"是(shi)(shi)知眾(zhong)(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng)心中具佛(fo)(fo)三德,故曰(yue)眾(zhong)(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng)法(fa)(fa)妙。心法(fa)(fa)眾(zhong)(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng)法(fa)(fa)既妙,則五住究竟、二死(si)永亡(wang)之佛(fo)(fo)更(geng)妙。眾(zhong)(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng)是(shi)(shi)佛(fo)(fo)心中的(de)眾(zhong)(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng),山河大(da)地,森羅萬(wan)象,無(wu)一不(bu)是(shi)(shi)佛(fo)(fo)心中的(de)物,無(wu)有差(cha)別(bie),故曰(yue)佛(fo)(fo)法(fa)(fa)妙。心佛(fo)(fo)及眾(zhong)(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng),是(shi)(shi)三無(wu)差(cha)別(bie)。無(wu)差(cha)別(bie)法(fa)(fa)是(shi)(shi)妙法(fa)(fa);此妙法(fa)(fa)人(ren)人(ren)本具,各(ge)各(ge)不(bu)無(wu)。

本(ben)經普門(men)即(ji)是(shi)(shi)無(wu)(wu)(wu)(wu)差別(bie)之(zhi)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)。是(shi)(shi)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)非思量(liang)(liang)分(fen)(fen)別(bie)所(suo)能解,起分(fen)(fen)別(bie)妄想(xiang)便非是(shi)(shi)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao),即(ji)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)成粗(cu)。如念(nian)(nian)佛(fo)念(nian)(nian)觀(guan)音,念(nian)(nian)得(de)一(yi)心不(bu)亂,無(wu)(wu)(wu)(wu)思量(liang)(liang)分(fen)(fen)別(bie),即(ji)是(shi)(shi)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)。能超(chao)凡(fan)見,不(bu)著有(you);能脫圣解,不(bu)著空。超(chao)情離見即(ji)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa),若是(shi)(shi)著有(you)著空,落于凡(fan)情妄緣,即(ji)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)成粗(cu)。若無(wu)(wu)(wu)(wu)所(suo)住而(er)生(sheng)其心,離過絕非是(shi)(shi)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)。有(you)所(suo)住而(er)生(sheng)其心,即(ji)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)是(shi)(shi)粗(cu)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)。一(yi)切(qie)眾(zhong)生(sheng),皆(jie)(jie)有(you)佛(fo)性,佛(fo)性即(ji)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa),故人人皆(jie)(jie)有(you)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa),人人皆(jie)(jie)可成佛(fo)。十方三世諸佛(fo)證(zheng)此(ci)(ci)無(wu)(wu)(wu)(wu)差別(bie)之(zhi)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)而(er)成佛(fo);眾(zhong)生(sheng)迷昧,錯用此(ci)(ci)無(wu)(wu)(wu)(wu)差別(bie)之(zhi)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa),而(er)妄起分(fen)(fen)別(bie)思量(liang)(liang),即(ji)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)為粗(cu),成苦惱眾(zhong)生(sheng)。

因惑作業(ye)(ye),由業(ye)(ye)感(gan)生死。如凡夫的心(xin),一切著(zhu)(zhu)有,計人(ren)我(wo)相,因致妙(miao)(miao)而(er)不妙(miao)(miao)。羅(luo)漢雖了生死,但(dan)著(zhu)(zhu)于(yu)空,抱消(xiao)極而(er)不度生,雖證羅(luo)漢,還是(shi)粗而(er)不妙(miao)(miao)。權乘菩薩,著(zhu)(zhu)二(er)邊(bian),或但(dan)中,仍非(fei)究竟,還是(shi)粗隔于(yu)妙(miao)(miao)。惟(wei)佛不著(zhu)(zhu)空有二(er)邊(bian)但(dan)中,離(li)(li)過絕非(fei),超情離(li)(li)見,證妙(miao)(miao)法而(er)無遺,是(shi)為真妙(miao)(miao)。

今以(yi)喻明(ming)(ming)之(zhi):眾生具妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)而(er)(er)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)相(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)應,如(ru)在(zai)礦(kuang)之(zhi)金(jin)。諸佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)證(zheng)(zheng)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)而(er)(er)相(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)應,如(ru)出礦(kuang)之(zhi)金(jin)。金(jin)雖(sui)(sui)有(you)在(zai)礦(kuang)出礦(kuang)之(zhi)別,然其體(ti)本(ben)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)二。所(suo)以(yi)云:"但(dan)盡妄緣(yuan),即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)如(ru)如(ru)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)。一(yi)(yi)念(nian)回(hui)光,便同本(ben)得。"只要眾生把凡(fan)情(qing)放下,別無(wu)圣(sheng)解,在(zai)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)增,在(zai)凡(fan)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)減,在(zai)生不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)垢(gou),在(zai)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)凈(jing),在(zai)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)生,在(zai)生不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)滅,一(yi)(yi)念(nian)返照,當體(ti)便是。但(dan)現前妄想執(zhi)著,而(er)(er)未(wei)證(zheng)(zheng)得。僅(jin)具本(ben)有(you)之(zhi)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)性(xing)(xing),故(gu)名(ming)理即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)。各位來此(ci)(ci)聽(ting)經,能(neng)(neng)(neng)明(ming)(ming)白心即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo),圓(yuan)具妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa),名(ming)名(ming)字即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)。然雖(sui)(sui)知具妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa),若不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)真(zhen)修(xiu),不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)能(neng)(neng)(neng)成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo),猶金(jin)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)鍛煉,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)能(neng)(neng)(neng)成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)純(chun)粹之(zhi)黃金(jin)。我們今天能(neng)(neng)(neng)萬緣(yuan)放下,一(yi)(yi)念(nian)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)掛,老實念(nian)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)聽(ting)經,清(qing)(qing)(qing)爽歷明(ming)(ming),能(neng)(neng)(neng)所(suo)雙泯(min),如(ru)是一(yi)(yi)心用功修(xiu)行,雖(sui)(sui)未(wei)見(jian)(jian)到(dao)(dao)(dao)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa),而(er)(er)能(neng)(neng)(neng)降伏(fu)煩(fan)惱,名(ming)觀行即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)。倘念(nian)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)念(nian)觀音,都攝(she)六(liu)根(gen)(gen),凈(jing)念(nian)相(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)繼,內(nei)(nei)忘六(liu)根(gen)(gen),外(wai)忘六(liu)塵(chen),內(nei)(nei)忘身心,外(wai)忘世(shi)界,迥脫根(gen)(gen)塵(chen),靈光獨耀,此(ci)(ci)即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)自(zi)性(xing)(xing)觀音相(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)似現出,此(ci)(ci)即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)所(suo)謂妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)。到(dao)(dao)(dao)那時視而(er)(er)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)見(jian)(jian),聽(ting)而(er)(er)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)聞(wen),食而(er)(er)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)知其味,無(wu)人相(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)、無(wu)我相(xiang)(xiang)(xiang),能(neng)(neng)(neng)所(suo)雙忘,用功到(dao)(dao)(dao)此(ci)(ci)地步,六(liu)根(gen)(gen)清(qing)(qing)(qing)凈(jing),見(jian)(jian)思(si)脫落,名(ming)相(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)似即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)。到(dao)(dao)(dao)破根(gen)(gen)本(ben)無(wu)明(ming)(ming),親(qin)證(zheng)(zheng)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa),禪名(ming)親(qin)見(jian)(jian)本(ben)來面目(mu),天臺名(ming)圓(yuan)證(zheng)(zheng)三諦,凈(jing)土名(ming)理一(yi)(yi)心不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)亂,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)動(dong)自(zi)性(xing)(xing),轉(zhuan)識(shi)成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)智(zhi),智(zhi)即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)。眾生轉(zhuan)智(zhi)成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)識(shi),妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)而(er)(er)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao);佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)轉(zhuan)識(shi)成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)智(zhi),親(qin)見(jian)(jian)本(ben)來面目(mu),不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)而(er)(er)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)。親(qin)見(jian)(jian)自(zi)性(xing)(xing)觀音,見(jian)(jian)到(dao)(dao)(dao)親(qin)生爺(ye)娘,即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)證(zheng)(zheng)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)。到(dao)(dao)(dao)此(ci)(ci)地步,能(neng)(neng)(neng)分(fen)身百界成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo),名(ming)分(fen)證(zheng)(zheng)即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)。雖(sui)(sui)確證(zheng)(zheng)到(dao)(dao)(dao)妙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)性(xing)(xing),但(dan)未(wei)究(jiu)(jiu)竟(jing)(jing),必須到(dao)(dao)(dao)五住究(jiu)(jiu)竟(jing)(jing),二死永亡(wang),見(jian)(jian)思(si)塵(chen)沙無(wu)明(ming)(ming)煩(fan)惱皆究(jiu)(jiu)竟(jing)(jing)清(qing)(qing)(qing)凈(jing),分(fen)段變易生死皆究(jiu)(jiu)竟(jing)(jing)了脫,業盡情(qing)空,而(er)(er)得真(zhen)解脫。

如釋迦究(jiu)竟徹(che)證(zheng)此(ci)妙法(fa),名究(jiu)竟即(ji)佛(fo)。此(ci)以(yi)(yi)妙法(fa)顯六(liu)即(ji)佛(fo)。吾人對于(yu)一(yi)切(qie)事物(wu),都(dou)思(si)量(liang)(liang)分別(bie)(bie)。思(si)量(liang)(liang)是(shi)(shi)(shi)七識(shi)作用,分別(bie)(bie)是(shi)(shi)(shi)六(liu)識(shi)作用。一(yi)起(qi)思(si)量(liang)(liang)分別(bie)(bie),便落(luo)意識(shi)窩(wo)里(li),隱覆心性(xing)妙寶,此(ci)即(ji)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)死根本(ben)。如能不(bu)(bu)起(qi)恒審思(si)量(liang)(liang),不(bu)(bu)起(qi)隨念(nian)計(ji)度(du)分別(bie)(bie),則無(wu)所住,不(bu)(bu)住有(you)分別(bie)(bie),不(bu)(bu)住空計(ji)度(du),二邊不(bu)(bu)住,中道(dao)不(bu)(bu)安,即(ji)顯妙法(fa)。到此(ci)無(wu)住生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)心,分別(bie)(bie)亦非(fei)意識(shi)矣!即(ji)以(yi)(yi)寢食(shi)言,雖極微極易(yi)(yi)(yi)之事,亦無(wu)不(bu)(bu)是(shi)(shi)(shi)妙法(fa)。所謂:頭頭是(shi)(shi)(shi)道(dao),左右逢源。昔(xi)龐居士家財富有(you),為辦道(dao)故,將財寶盡(jin)丟漢陽江中,愿甘貧苦(ku),使女編竹,使子耕田以(yi)(yi)為生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)。一(yi)日,互相談道(dao),龐居士云(yun):"用功不(bu)(bu)易(yi)(yi)(yi),證(zheng)妙法(fa)難!難!難!難!十斛芝麻(ma)樹上(shang)攤。"因貪吃好(hao)穿(chuan),恩愛習氣(qi),分別(bie)(bie)妄念(nian),無(wu)始以(yi)(yi)來,已(yi)成習慣(guan)。雖明知都(dou)是(shi)(shi)(shi)空,然(ran)事實上(shang),萬不(bu)(bu)肯(ken)空,煩妄放(fang)不(bu)(bu)下。妄惑(huo)之路太熟,不(bu)(bu)易(yi)(yi)(yi)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng);念(nian)佛(fo)參禪修(xiu)觀,欲(yu)證(zheng)妙法(fa),是(shi)(shi)(shi)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)路,不(bu)(bu)易(yi)(yi)(yi)熟。修(xiu)行誠難誠難!其妻龐婆云(yun):"易(yi)(yi)(yi)!易(yi)(yi)(yi)!易(yi)(yi)(yi)!百草頭上(shang)祖師意,拈(nian)來無(wu)不(bu)(bu)是(shi)(shi)(shi)。"翠竹黃花,無(wu)非(fei)般若。

蘇東坡所謂溪聲盡(jin)是(shi)(shi)廣(guang)長舌,山色無(wu)非清凈身,地(di)水火風,根塵(chen)識界,無(wu)非妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)。凡情妄(wang)(wang)緣,其(qi)(qi)性本空,即(ji)粗是(shi)(shi)妙(miao)(miao),無(wu)權(quan)不實,妙(miao)(miao)性天然(ran),本來如(ru)是(shi)(shi),故云易也。其(qi)(qi)女(nv)靈昭女(nv),異常(chang)聰慧,乃云:"也不難(nan),也不易,饑來吃(chi)飯(fan)疲來睡。"行住坐臥,無(wu)非妙(miao)(miao)法(fa),不過吾人吃(chi)睡,都不成(cheng)樣(yang)罷!試思(si)吃(chi)飯(fan)時(shi),常(chang)起妄(wang)(wang)想(xiang),去分(fen)(fen)別(bie)菜(cai)之(zhi)(zhi)好(hao)(hao)丑(chou)、味之(zhi)(zhi)甘(gan)苦。于是(shi)(shi)好(hao)(hao)則(ze)貪而(er)多吃(chi),丑(chou)則(ze)厭而(er)少吃(chi),這即(ji)是(shi)(shi)即(ji)妙(miao)(miao)成(cheng)粗法(fa)。如(ru)能(neng)一(yi)(yi)心不亂(luan)(luan),盡(jin)管往(wang)下吃(chi),驀直(zhi)食(shi)飯(fan),不起思(si)量分(fen)(fen)別(bie),所謂終日(ri)吃(chi)飯(fan),沒有咬著一(yi)(yi)顆(ke)米。以無(wu)意識作用。故如(ru)是(shi)(shi)吃(chi)飯(fan),謂之(zhi)(zhi)應(ying)供,謂之(zhi)(zhi)妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)佛事(shi)。吃(chi)飯(fan)如(ru)是(shi)(shi),睡覺(jue)(jue)亦然(ran)。睡時(shi)顛倒(dao)夢想(xiang),便非真睡。真睡,要如(ru)至(zhi)人的無(wu)夢才是(shi)(shi)。無(wu)顛倒(dao)夢想(xiang),寤寐一(yi)(yi)如(ru),即(ji)是(shi)(shi)妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)。昔(xi)玉琳(lin)國師之(zhi)(zhi)師兄,終日(ri)睡覺(jue)(jue),人以為(wei)惰(duo),但他的睡與人不同,寐中寂寂惺惺,惺惺寂寂,其(qi)(qi)功(gong)夫實超過玉琳(lin),所以說(shuo)睡覺(jue)(jue)也即(ji)是(shi)(shi)妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)。眠食(shi)如(ru)是(shi)(shi),一(yi)(yi)切法(fa)無(wu)不皆然(ran)。要言之(zhi)(zhi),是(shi)(shi)法(fa)非思(si)量分(fen)(fen)別(bie)之(zhi)(zhi)所能(neng)解,謂之(zhi)(zhi)妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)。所以不要去分(fen)(fen)別(bie),不要去思(si)量,一(yi)(yi)心湛然(ran),闃爾(er)無(wu)寄,天臺所謂一(yi)(yi)心三(san)觀,凈土(tu)所謂一(yi)(yi)心不亂(luan)(luan),許爾(er)與妙(miao)(miao)法(fa),覿面(mian)相見。故昔(xi)釋迦,講妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)計有八(ba)年(nian)之(zhi)(zhi)久。天臺智(zhi)者,亦須九旬談(tan)妙(miao)(miao)。若廣(guang)開(kai)起來,橫(heng)說(shuo)豎說(shuo),窮劫難(nan)盡(jin),只好(hao)(hao)由諸位親見親證罷!

蓮(lian)(lian)花(hua)(hua)(hua)(hua)不(bu)(bu)(bu)同(tong)凡花(hua)(hua)(hua)(hua),借作比喻(yu)(yu)(yu),以(yi)(yi)譬妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)。蓮(lian)(lian)花(hua)(hua)(hua)(hua)內有(you)(you)(you)蓮(lian)(lian)子(zi),外有(you)(you)(you)蓮(lian)(lian)花(hua)(hua)(hua)(hua),子(zi)為(wei)(wei)果,花(hua)(hua)(hua)(hua)為(wei)(wei)因(yin)(yin),花(hua)(hua)(hua)(hua)果一起(qi),喻(yu)(yu)(yu)因(yin)(yin)果同(tong)時,不(bu)(bu)(bu)離(li)本(ben)覺(jue)妙(miao)(miao)心。蓮(lian)(lian)根(gen)藏泥(ni)水(shui)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)中(zhong),而(er)(er)(er)蓮(lian)(lian)花(hua)(hua)(hua)(hua)則獨(du)立泥(ni)水(shui)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)上(shang)。泥(ni)猶六(liu)道(dao)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)著有(you)(you)(you),水(shui)猶二(er)乘(cheng)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)著空;蓮(lian)(lian)花(hua)(hua)(hua)(hua)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)獨(du)立于泥(ni)水(shui)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)上(shang),即(ji)喻(yu)(yu)(yu)妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)超然空有(you)(you)(you)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)上(shang),而(er)(er)(er)顯(xian)(xian)非空非有(you)(you)(you)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)中(zhong)道(dao)義諦。蓮(lian)(lian)根(gen)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)不(bu)(bu)(bu)離(li)乎泥(ni)水(shui),即(ji)喻(yu)(yu)(yu)妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)雙(shuang)(shuang)照(zhao)即(ji)空即(ji)有(you)(you)(you),而(er)(er)(er)顯(xian)(xian)雙(shuang)(shuang)照(zhao)真俗之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)圓中(zhong)妙(miao)(miao)諦,雙(shuang)(shuang)遮(zhe)雙(shuang)(shuang)照(zhao),遮(zhe)照(zhao)不(bu)(bu)(bu)二(er)。心包六(liu)道(dao)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)有(you)(you)(you)、二(er)乘(cheng)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)空,故能廣度(du)(du)六(liu)道(dao)三(san)(san)乘(cheng),此(ci)所以(yi)(yi)喻(yu)(yu)(yu)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)妙(miao)(miao)也。且蓮(lian)(lian)花(hua)(hua)(hua)(hua)與蓮(lian)(lian)子(zi),兩不(bu)(bu)(bu)相離(li),有(you)(you)(you)花(hua)(hua)(hua)(hua)必蓮(lian)(lian),即(ji)證因(yin)(yin)果不(bu)(bu)(bu)二(er)。釋迦初成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)時,眾(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)機緣未熟,不(bu)(bu)(bu)能直談(tan)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)華(hua)(hua)妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa),只(zhi)好講權(quan)(quan)門(men)方便法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa),如(ru)華(hua)(hua)嚴(yan)、阿含、方等(deng)、般若等(deng)經(jing)(jing)(jing),先來(lai)善誘(you)勸導。初講三(san)(san)皈五戒(jie),次(ci)說(shuo)四諦十(shi)二(er)因(yin)(yin)緣,三(san)(san)乘(cheng)等(deng)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa),然雖說(shuo)種(zhong)種(zhong)道(dao),其實(shi)為(wei)(wei)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)乘(cheng),是(shi)名(ming)為(wei)(wei)實(shi)施(shi)權(quan)(quan),即(ji)為(wei)(wei)蓮(lian)(lian)而(er)(er)(er)有(you)(you)(you)花(hua)(hua)(hua)(hua)。四十(shi)年后,時至機熟,乃在法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)華(hua)(hua)會上(shang),方開(kai)(kai)權(quan)(quan)顯(xian)(xian)實(shi),三(san)(san)乘(cheng)同(tong)歸一佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)乘(cheng),無(wu)粗不(bu)(bu)(bu)妙(miao)(miao),即(ji)如(ru)華(hua)(hua)開(kai)(kai)蓮(lian)(lian)現。經(jing)(jing)(jing)云(yun):"若有(you)(you)(you)聞法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)者,無(wu)一不(bu)(bu)(bu)成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)。"又云(yun):"一稱南無(wu)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo),皆共成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)道(dao)。"又花(hua)(hua)(hua)(hua)落蓮(lian)(lian)成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng),喻(yu)(yu)(yu)廢權(quan)(quan)立實(shi)。實(shi)外無(wu)權(quan)(quan),妙(miao)(miao)外無(wu)粗,妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)全彰,眾(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)無(wu)不(bu)(bu)(bu)是(shi)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo),此(ci)為(wei)(wei)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)華(hua)(hua)前(qian)(qian)十(shi)四品之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)蓮(lian)(lian)華(hua)(hua)。但(dan)世人(ren)只(zhi)知釋迦前(qian)(qian)為(wei)(wei)悉達太(tai)子(zi),十(shi)九歲出家(jia),苦行六(liu)年,游歷五年,到三(san)(san)十(shi)歲才成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)。其實(shi)釋迦于無(wu)量劫前(qian)(qian),塵點劫前(qian)(qian),早已成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo),徹證妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)。然則何以(yi)(yi)再(zai)來(lai)成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)呢?為(wei)(wei)憐(lian)憫眾(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)死輪回,故非生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)而(er)(er)(er)現生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng),非滅而(er)(er)(er)示滅,往來(lai)娑(suo)婆世界(jie),不(bu)(bu)(bu)知其數。如(ru)梵網經(jing)(jing)(jing)云(yun):"我(wo)今來(lai)此(ci)娑(suo)婆世界(jie),前(qian)(qian)后八千番。"此(ci)猶約化(hua)(hua)跡(ji)而(er)(er)(er)言(yan),這才是(shi)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)的真面目。開(kai)(kai)跡(ji)顯(xian)(xian)本(ben),現身(shen)度(du)(du)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng),有(you)(you)(you)如(ru)千江(jiang)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)水(shui)千江(jiang)月。水(shui)月是(shi)跡(ji),天(tian)月是(shi)本(ben),從(cong)本(ben)垂跡(ji),如(ru)為(wei)(wei)蓮(lian)(lian)故華(hua)(hua);開(kai)(kai)跡(ji)顯(xian)(xian)本(ben),如(ru)華(hua)(hua)開(kai)(kai)蓮(lian)(lian)現;廢跡(ji)立本(ben),則如(ru)花(hua)(hua)(hua)(hua)落蓮(lian)(lian)成(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)矣!跡(ji)門(men)三(san)(san)喻(yu)(yu)(yu),本(ben)門(men)三(san)(san)喻(yu)(yu)(yu),無(wu)一非喻(yu)(yu)(yu)妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)。妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)玄深,恐大家(jia)不(bu)(bu)(bu)易明白,因(yin)(yin)以(yi)(yi)蓮(lian)(lian)華(hua)(hua)為(wei)(wei)喻(yu)(yu)(yu)。諸有(you)(you)(you)智者,應以(yi)(yi)蓮(lian)(lian)華(hua)(hua)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)喻(yu)(yu)(yu),而(er)(er)(er)領悟妙(miao)(miao)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)也。梵語修多羅,此(ci)云(yun)契經(jing)(jing)(jing)。上(shang)契佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)道(dao),下(xia)契群(qun)機,故名(ming)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)為(wei)(wei)經(jing)(jing)(jing)。經(jing)(jing)(jing)者常(chang)也,千途同(tong)歸,常(chang)住不(bu)(bu)(bu)變。經(jing)(jing)(jing)者法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)也,所以(yi)(yi)示我(wo)人(ren)以(yi)(yi)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)度(du)(du)軌(gui)道(dao)。經(jing)(jing)(jing)者徑(jing)也,為(wei)(wei)吾人(ren)修行之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)徑(jing)路。經(jing)(jing)(jing)者典(dian)也,為(wei)(wei)教化(hua)(hua)眾(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng)(sheng)闡揚佛(fo)(fo)(fo)(fo)化(hua)(hua)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)定(ding)典(dian)也,這就是(shi)經(jing)(jing)(jing)字的解釋。

流行地域

觀世音(yin)信(xin)仰很早就(jiu)流行(xing)于西域,而且歷(li)久不(bu)衰。因此,近人在中國新疆吐魯番發現了回(hui)鶻文(wen)(wen)和古代突厥文(wen)(wen)的《普門品》譯本(ben)。其(qi)回(hui)鶻文(wen)(wen)本(ben)由拉(la)德(de)洛夫(fu)校(xiao)刊(kan)并翻(fan)成德(de)文(wen)(wen),作為(wei)俄國的《佛教文(wen)(wen)庫》第(di)十四期,1911年在圣彼(bi)得堡刊(kan)行(xing)。此外,有(you)意大利文(wen)(wen)重譯本(ben)(依漢譯本(ben)重譯)。還有(you)日(ri)本(ben)渡邊照宏、長澤實導的兩種日(ri)文(wen)(wen)譯本(ben)(1935、1940年依梵本(ben)翻(fan)譯)。

注釋譯文

關于(yu)《普(pu)門品》的重要(yao)注(zhu)釋書(shu),有隋代天臺(tai)智顗說,灌頂記《觀音玄義(yi)》、《觀音義(yi)疏》各二卷(juan),其后宋代四明知(zhi)禮各為作《記》四卷(juan)等。

稱(cheng)其(qi)(qi)(qi)(qi)名(ming)(ming)(ming)故(gu)(gu),即(ji)(ji)得(de)解(jie)脫(tuo)。無(wu)(wu)(wu)盡(jin)意(yi),觀(guan)(guan)世(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)音(yin)(yin)(yin)(yin)菩(pu)(pu)(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)摩訶薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa),威(wei)(wei)神之(zhi)(zhi)力(li)(li),巍巍如(ru)(ru)是(shi)。若(ruo)(ruo)有(you)(you)(you)眾(zhong)(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng),多(duo)于(yu)(yu)淫欲(yu),常念恭(gong)敬(jing)(jing)(jing)觀(guan)(guan)世(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)音(yin)(yin)(yin)(yin)菩(pu)(pu)(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa),便(bian)得(de)離(li)(li)欲(yu)。若(ruo)(ruo)多(duo)嗔恚(huì),常念恭(gong)敬(jing)(jing)(jing)觀(guan)(guan)世(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)音(yin)(yin)(yin)(yin)菩(pu)(pu)(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa),便(bian)得(de)離(li)(li)嗔。若(ruo)(ruo)多(duo)愚癡(chi),常念恭(gong)敬(jing)(jing)(jing)觀(guan)(guan)世(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)音(yin)(yin)(yin)(yin)菩(pu)(pu)(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa),便(bian)得(de)離(li)(li)癡(chi)。無(wu)(wu)(wu)盡(jin)意(yi),觀(guan)(guan)世(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)音(yin)(yin)(yin)(yin)菩(pu)(pu)(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa),有(you)(you)(you)如(ru)(ru)是(shi)等大(da)威(wei)(wei)神力(li)(li),多(duo)所饒(rao)益(yi)。是(shi)故(gu)(gu)眾(zhong)(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng),常應心(xin)(xin)念。若(ruo)(ruo)有(you)(you)(you)女人,設(she)欲(yu)求(qiu)男,禮拜(bai)供養(yang)(yang)觀(guan)(guan)世(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)音(yin)(yin)(yin)(yin)菩(pu)(pu)(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa),便(bian)生(sheng)(sheng)福德(de)智慧之(zhi)(zhi)男;設(she)欲(yu)求(qiu)女,便(bian)生(sheng)(sheng)端(duan)正有(you)(you)(you)相之(zhi)(zhi)女,宿(su)植德(de)本(ben),眾(zhong)(zhong)人愛敬(jing)(jing)(jing)。無(wu)(wu)(wu)盡(jin)意(yi),觀(guan)(guan)世(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)音(yin)(yin)(yin)(yin)菩(pu)(pu)(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)有(you)(you)(you)如(ru)(ru)是(shi)力(li)(li)。若(ruo)(ruo)有(you)(you)(you)眾(zhong)(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng),恭(gong)敬(jing)(jing)(jing)禮拜(bai)觀(guan)(guan)世(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)音(yin)(yin)(yin)(yin)菩(pu)(pu)(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa),福不(bu)(bu)唐捐(juan)。是(shi)故(gu)(gu)眾(zhong)(zhong)生(sheng)(sheng),皆(jie)(jie)應受(shou)持(chi)觀(guan)(guan)世(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)(shi)音(yin)(yin)(yin)(yin)菩(pu)(pu)(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)名(ming)(ming)(ming)號。無(wu)(wu)(wu)盡(jin)意(yi),若(ruo)(ruo)有(you)(you)(you)人,受(shou)持(chi)六十二億恒(heng)河沙(sha)菩(pu)(pu)(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)名(ming)(ming)(ming)字,復(fu)盡(jin)形供養(yang)(yang)飲食(shi)、衣服、臥具、醫藥,于(yu)(yu)汝意(yi)云何?是(shi)善男子(zi)(zi)、善女人,功(gong)德(de)多(duo)否?”

無盡(jin)意言:“甚(shen)多(duo),世(shi)尊。”

佛言:“若復有(you)人(ren),受(shou)持觀(guan)世音(yin)菩薩名(ming)號,乃至(zhi)一時禮拜供養(yang),是二人(ren)福(fu),正等無異(yi),于百千萬億劫,不(bu)可窮盡(jin)。無盡(jin)意,受(shou)持觀(guan)世音(yin)菩薩名(ming)號,得如是無量無邊(bian)福(fu)德之(zhi)利。”

無盡意菩薩白(bai)佛言:“世尊(zun),觀世音菩薩,云何游(you)此娑婆世界(jie)?云何而為眾(zhong)生說法(fa)?方便之(zhi)力(li),其事云何?”

(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)。應(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)比(bi)丘(qiu)、比(bi)丘(qiu)尼、優(you)婆(po)塞(sai)(sè)、優(you)婆(po)夷身(shen)(shen)(shen)得(de)(de)(de)(de)度(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)現(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)比(bi)丘(qiu)、比(bi)丘(qiu)尼、優(you)婆(po)塞(sai)、優(you)婆(po)夷身(shen)(shen)(shen)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)說(shuo)(shuo)(shuo)(shuo)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)。應(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)長者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)、居士、宰官、婆(po)羅(luo)(luo)門婦女身(shen)(shen)(shen)得(de)(de)(de)(de)度(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)現(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)婦女身(shen)(shen)(shen)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)說(shuo)(shuo)(shuo)(shuo)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)。應(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)童(tong)男、童(tong)女身(shen)(shen)(shen)得(de)(de)(de)(de)度(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)現(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)童(tong)男、童(tong)女身(shen)(shen)(shen)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)說(shuo)(shuo)(shuo)(shuo)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)。應(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)天龍、夜(ye)叉、乾(qian)闥(ta)婆(po)、阿修(xiu)羅(luo)(luo)、迦樓羅(luo)(luo)、緊(jin)那羅(luo)(luo)、摩睺羅(luo)(luo)伽、人(ren)非(fei)人(ren)等身(shen)(shen)(shen)得(de)(de)(de)(de)度(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)皆現(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)之(zhi)而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)說(shuo)(shuo)(shuo)(shuo)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)。應(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)執(zhi)金剛神得(de)(de)(de)(de)度(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),即(ji)(ji)(ji)(ji)現(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)(xian)執(zhi)金剛神而(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)(er)為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)說(shuo)(shuo)(shuo)(shuo)法(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)(fa)。無(wu)盡意,是觀(guan)世音菩(pu)(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa),成就如是功德,以(yi)(yi)(yi)(yi)種(zhong)種(zhong)形(xing),游諸國(guo)土(tu),度(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)(du)脫眾(zhong)生(sheng)。是故汝等,應(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)(ying)當一心供養觀(guan)世音菩(pu)(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)。是觀(guan)世音菩(pu)(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)摩訶(he)薩(sa)(sa),于怖(bu)畏(wei)(wei)急難(nan)之(zhi)中,能施無(wu)畏(wei)(wei),是故此娑婆(po)世界,皆號之(zhi)為(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)(wei)施無(wu)畏(wei)(wei)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)。”

無盡意菩(pu)薩白佛(fo)言:“世尊,我今當供養觀(guan)世音菩(pu)薩。” 即解頸眾寶珠瓔珞,價(jia)值百千兩金,而以與之(zhi)。作(zuo)是(shi)言:“仁者,受此法(fa)施(shi)珍寶瓔珞。”

時觀(guan)世音菩(pu)薩,不肯(ken)受(shou)之(zhi)。無盡意復(fu)白觀(guan)世音菩(pu)薩言:“仁者,憫我等故,受(shou)此瓔珞(luo)。”

爾時,佛告(gao)觀世(shi)(shi)音菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa):“當(dang)憫(min)此(ci)無(wu)(wu)盡意(yi)菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa),及(ji)四眾、天、龍、夜叉、乾闥婆(po)(po)、阿修羅(luo)、迦樓羅(luo)、緊(jin)那(nei)羅(luo)、摩睺羅(luo)伽、人非(fei)人等(deng)故,受是瓔珞。” 即(ji)時,觀世(shi)(shi)音菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa),憫(min)諸四眾,及(ji)于天龍、人非(fei)人等(deng),受其瓔珞,分(fen)作二分(fen),一分(fen)奉釋迦牟(mou)尼佛,一分(fen)奉多寶佛塔(ta)。“無(wu)(wu)盡意(yi),觀世(shi)(shi)音菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa),有如(ru)是自(zi)在神力,游(you)于娑婆(po)(po)世(shi)(shi)界。” 爾時,無(wu)(wu)盡意(yi)菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa)。以偈(jie)問曰(yue)

世尊妙相具, 我今(jin)重問彼:佛子何因緣? 名為觀世音!

具足妙相尊, 偈答無盡意:汝聽觀音行, 善應諸方(fang)所。

弘誓深如海, 歷劫不(bu)思議,侍多(duo)千億佛, 發大清(qing)凈(jing)愿!

我為汝略(lve)說(shuo): 聞名及見身,心念(nian)不(bu)空(kong)過, 能(neng)滅諸有(you)苦(ku)。

假使興害意, 推落大火(huo)坑,念(nian)彼觀音力, 火(huo)坑變成池!

或漂(piao)流巨海,龍魚諸鬼難,念彼觀音力(li), 波(bo)浪不能沒!

或在(zai)須(xu)彌(mi)峰, 為人所推墮,念彼觀(guan)音力, 如日(ri)虛(xu)空住(zhu)!

或被惡人逐, 墮落金剛山,念(nian)彼觀音力, 不(bu)能損一毛!

或值怨賊(zei)繞, 各執(zhi)刀加(jia)害,念(nian)彼觀(guan)音力, 咸(xian)即起慈心!

或遭王難苦, 臨(lin)刑(xing)欲壽(shou)終,念彼觀音(yin)力, 刀尋(xun)段(duan)段(duan)壞(huai)!

或囚(qiu)禁枷鎖, 手足被(bei)杻(chou)械(xie),念(nian)彼觀音力, 釋然得(de)解脫!

咒詛諸毒藥, 所欲害身者,念彼觀音(yin)力, 還著于本(ben)人!

或遇惡羅剎, 毒龍(long)諸鬼等,念彼觀音力, 時悉不(bu)敢害!

若惡獸圍繞(rao), 利牙爪可怖,念彼觀(guan)音(yin)力, 疾走無邊方!

蚖蛇及蝮蝎(xie), 氣(qi)毒(du)煙火燃,念彼觀音力, 尋聲自回去!

云雷鼓掣電(dian), 降(jiang)雹澍大雨(yu),念(nian)彼觀音力, 應時得消(xiao)散(san)!

眾(zhong)生被困厄,無量苦(ku)逼身,觀(guan)音妙(miao)智力, 能救世間苦(ku)!

具足神通力, 廣修智方便(bian),十方諸國土, 無剎(cha)不(bu)現(xian)身!

種種諸惡趣, 地獄鬼畜生,生老(lao)病死苦, 以漸悉令滅!

真(zhen)觀(guan)清(qing)凈(jing)觀(guan), 廣大智慧觀(guan),悲觀(guan)及慈觀(guan), 常(chang)愿常(chang)瞻仰!

悲體戒雷(lei)震, 慈(ci)意妙大云(yun),澍甘露(lu)法(fa)雨, 滅(mie)除煩惱焰!

諍訟經官(guan)處, 怖畏軍陣中,念彼觀音力, 眾怨悉(xi)退(tui)散!

妙(miao)音(yin)觀世音(yin), 梵(fan)音(yin)海潮音(yin),勝彼世間(jian)音(yin), 是故(gu)須常念!

念念勿生疑, 觀世音(yin)凈圣(sheng),于苦惱死厄, 能為作依怙!

具(ju)一切功德, 慈眼視(shi)眾(zhong)生,福聚海無量, 是故應(ying)頂(ding)禮!

爾時,持地菩(pu)(pu)薩,即(ji)從座起,前白(bai)佛言:“世尊,若有眾生,聞是觀(guan)世音菩(pu)(pu)薩品自在之業,普(pu)門(men)示(shi)現神通(tong)力(li)者(zhe),當知是人功德(de)不少!” 佛說是普(pu)門(men)品時,眾中八(ba)萬四千眾生,皆發無等等阿耨(nou)多羅三(san)藐三(san)菩(pu)(pu)提心。

觀音菩薩

觀音菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa):梵文Avalokite?vara,又作觀世(shi)音菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)、觀自(zi)在(zai)菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)、光(guang)世(shi)音菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)等,從字面(mian)解釋就是“觀察(世(shi)間民(min)眾的(de))聲(sheng)音”的(de)菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa),是四大(da)菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)之一。他相貌端莊慈祥(xiang),經常手持凈瓶楊柳(liu),具有無(wu)量的(de)智慧和神通,大(da)慈大(da)悲,普救人間疾(ji)苦。當(dang)人們遇到災(zai)難時(shi),只要念其名(ming)號,便前往救度,所以稱觀世(shi)音。在(zai)佛(fo)教中,他是西方(fang)極樂世(shi)界(jie)教主(zhu)阿(a)彌陀(tuo)佛(fo)座下的(de)上首菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa),同大(da)勢至菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa)一起,是阿(a)彌陀(tuo)佛(fo)身邊的(de)脅侍菩(pu)(pu)薩(sa)(sa)(sa)(sa),并稱“西方(fang)三圣”。

如何修持

觀世音(yin)菩(pu)薩的修(xiu)學(xue)從(cong)持念觀世音(yin)菩(pu)薩名號(hao)、大(da)悲咒、普門品(pin)以及觀世音(yin)菩(pu)薩的經典入手,加上修(xiu)習(xi)福慧善根,得大(da)自(zi)在(zai)的法門,使眾(zhong)生得到無上功德,菩(pu)薩在(zai)無意識界中福蔭萬代。

一、修(xiu)持觀世音菩(pu)薩法門要有大悲憫憐(lian)一切眾生(sheng),更不要說去傷害眾生(sheng)的(de)話,因為菩(pu)薩叫做大悲觀世音。只有去幫助大家遠去痛(tong)苦,永得快(kuai)樂(le)(le)。我們己(ji)身(shen)也會得到(dao)快(kuai)樂(le)(le)的(de)福。

二、修持觀(guan)世音菩薩法門要(yao)有一顆樸實清凈之心。我們己身也會得到脫苦的(de)福(fu)。

三、修持(chi)觀(guan)世音菩薩(sa)法(fa)門要(yao)送(song)給(gei)大家飲食、衣服、醫藥、家庭常用品和一切所需要(yao)的物(wu)品。我們己身也會得到(dao)富貴(gui)的福。

四、修(xiu)持觀世(shi)音菩薩法門遠離(li)一切不(bu)如(ru)(ru)法的(de)事,利益(yi)和(he)貢獻所有人。我們己身(shen)也會得到(dao)萬事如(ru)(ru)意的(de)福(fu)。

五(wu)、修持(chi)觀世音菩薩(sa)法門要己學,還要開示大家(jia)學習布施等(deng)六波羅(luo)密的(de)好處。我們(men)己身也會得到受生尊貴的(de)福。

六、修(xiu)持觀世(shi)音菩薩法門(men)要深刻了解因(yin)果(guo),一心積善,實修(xiu)實持入于菩薩大愿海的境界。我們己身(shen)也(ye)會得到無上(shang)菩提的福。

七、修持觀世音(yin)菩(pu)薩法門若大家對(dui)我(wo)們有(you)所求(qiu),要極力去幫忙他們的達成愿望。我(wo)們己身也會得(de)到所求(qiu)如愿的福。

八、修持觀世(shi)音菩薩法門(men)不要生(sheng)貪婪的心,舍掉恨毒(du)的心,才不會愚癡無(wu)智慧。以(yi)求明心見性。我們己身也會得到無(wu)煩惱清涼境界的福。

九、修持觀世音菩薩法門要深入(ru)經(jing)藏,為(wei)人說(shuo)法就會辯才無礙。我們己(ji)身也會得到廣大(da)圓滿(man)的福(fu)。

十、修持觀世音菩薩法門要常修福、慧、學忍(ren)辱。我們己(ji)身也會(hui)得到一切(qie)種智和相好(hao)光(guang)明的福。
