歷史沿革
最早的(de)(de)城隍廟見于三國吳(wu)赤(chi)烏二年(239)建(jian)的(de)(de)蕪湖城隍廟。歷史上(shang)有唐人張(zhang)說、
李德裕(yu)、李陽冰、杜牧等祭祀(si)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)神的文獻記載。宋代以后,城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)開(kai)始(shi)人(ren)格化、多以去世(shi)后的英雄或(huo)名臣奉為(wei)(wei)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)神,如蘇州祀(si)戰國時春申君黃歇,上(shang)海祀(si)秦(qin)裕(yu)伯,北京祀(si)文天(tian)祥、楊椒山(shan),杭州祀(si)周新,會稽祀(si)龐(pang)王(wang)(wang),南寧(ning)、桂(gui)林祀(si)蘇緘(jian)等。后唐末帝清泰元(yuan)年(934)封(feng)(feng)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)王(wang)(wang)爵。明(ming)太(tai)(tai)(tai)(tai)祖洪武(wu)元(yuan)年(1368)則下旨封(feng)(feng)開(kai)封(feng)(feng)、臨濠、束和(he)、平滁四城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)的城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)王(wang)(wang),職位(wei)正一品(pin),與人(ren)間(jian)的太(tai)(tai)(tai)(tai)師、太(tai)(tai)(tai)(tai)傅、太(tai)(tai)(tai)(tai)保(bao)“三公(gong)”和(he)左(zuo)、右丞相平級(ji),又封(feng)(feng)各(ge)(ge)(ge)府(fu)、州、縣城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)公(gong)、侯(hou)、伯,即府(fu)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)監(jian)察(cha)司(si)氏城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)威靈公(gong),職位(wei)正二品(pin);州城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)監(jian)察(cha)司(si)氏城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)顯佑侯(hou),職位(wei)正三品(pin);縣城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)監(jian)察(cha)司(si)氏城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)顯佑伯,職位(wei)正四品(pin),并且重建(jian)各(ge)(ge)(ge)地(di)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)廟,規模高廣與當地(di)官(guan)署衙門(men)完全一樣,還按級(ji)別配制冕旒哀服。明(ming)太(tai)(tai)(tai)(tai)祖洪武(wu)三年(1370)正祀(si)典,詔去封(feng)(feng)號,只(zhi)稱“某府(fu)或(huo)某縣城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)之神,又令各(ge)(ge)(ge)地(di)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)廟不得雜祀(si)其(qi)(qi)他(ta)(ta)之神。據說明(ming)太(tai)(tai)(tai)(tai)祖朱(zhu)元(yuan)璋(zhang)出生在土地(di)廟里,所以他(ta)(ta)對土地(di)廟以及(ji)土地(di)的“上(shang)司(si)”城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)極為(wei)(wei)崇敬。明(ming)孝宗(zong)年間(jian)(1488—1506),莆田(tian)抗元(yuan)英雄陳文龍(1232—1277)被(bei)封(feng)(feng)為(wei)(wei)福州城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)爺,其(qi)(qi)從叔抗元(yuan)英雄陳瓚(1232—1277)被(bei)封(feng)(feng)為(wei)(wei)興(xing)化府(fu)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)爺。
在原莆(pu)(pu)田(tian)縣內(nei),有創(chuang)建于明洪武二(er)年(nian)(1369),位于城(cheng)內(nei)長壽(shou)街廟(miao)(miao)前(qian)巷的興(xing)化府(fu)城(cheng)隍(huang)廟(miao)(miao),由照墻、外埕、大(da)門、甬道、儀(yi)門、中門、正殿、后殿及兩(liang)廂護(hu)厝等組成,占地面積(ji)24畝(一(yi)說18畝),與興(xing)化府(fu)衙,莆(pu)(pu)田(tian)縣衙一(yi)樣(yang)大(da),為莆(pu)(pu)田(tian)五(wu)大(da)宮廟(miao)(miao)之(zhi)一(yi);主祀城(cheng)隍(huang)大(da)神陳(chen)瓚,俗稱城(cheng)隍(huang)爺。該廟(miao)(miao)現為福建省(sheng)級(ji)重點文物保(bao)護(hu)單(dan)位。
歷史文化
這是(shi)一(yi)座(zuo)典型的漢式(shi)寺廟(miao)(miao),格局(ju)簡煉。一(yi)如隨(sui)意散落在江南某個小鎮的庵院廟(miao)(miao)堂(tang),但是(shi)稍加留意便(bian)可看出這座(zuo)寺廟(miao)(miao)的氣度與眾(zhong)不同。首先(xian)廟(miao)(miao)前高懸的道(dao)幡說明這是(shi)一(yi)座(zuo)道(dao)教寺廟(miao)(miao),這在熱河街上可謂鳳毛麟角(jiao)。遍(bian)布避暑山莊周圍的多為藏(zang)傳(chuan)佛(fo)教寺廟(miao)(miao),而修建這樣一(yi)座(zuo)道(dao)教寺廟(miao)(miao)則是(shi)出于(yu)對(dui)漢族群眾(zhong)宗教信仰的尊重,同時由(you)乾隆欽定“熱河都城隍廟(miao)(miao)”似可說明古熱河在當時社會的政(zheng)治地位(wei)。

城(cheng)隍,起(qi)源于古(gu)代(dai)的(de)(de)水(shui)(隍)庸(yong)(城(cheng))的(de)(de)祭祀(si),為《周宮》八神之一(yi)。“城(cheng)”原(yuan)指(zhi)(zhi)挖土筑的(de)(de)高墻,“隍”原(yuan)指(zhi)(zhi)沒有(you)水(shui)的(de)(de)護城(cheng)壕(hao)。古(gu)人(ren)造(zao)城(cheng)是為了保(bao)護城(cheng)內百姓的(de)(de)安全,所以修了高大(da)的(de)(de)城(cheng)墻、城(cheng)樓(lou)、城(cheng)門以及壕(hao)城(cheng)、護城(cheng)河。他們認為與(yu)人(ren)們的(de)(de)生活(huo)、生產安全密切相關的(de)(de)事(shi)物,都有(you)神在,于是城(cheng)和隍被神化為城(cheng)市的(de)(de)保(bao)護神。道教(jiao)把(ba)它納(na)入自己(ji)的(de)(de)神系,稱它是剪除(chu)兇惡、保(bao)國護邦之神,并管領陰(yin)間的(de)(de)亡(wang)魂(hun)。

特色
城隍廟(miao)現為(wei)承德市為(wei)數不多的一(yi)家道教寺廟(miao),風格有(you)別于外八廟(miao),很值得(de)一(yi)看。這里每日(ri)上午9:00-10:00有(you)道教法事活動,且每逢重大道教節日(ri),必舉(ju)行(xing)道教法會(hui)慶(qing)賀。
旅游交通
城隍廟位于(yu)西大(da)街(jie)路北,出避暑山莊沿麗正門(men)大(da)街(jie)西行至火神廟處,右轉上西大(da)街(jie)再走(zou)約(yue)1公(gong)里。也可乘5路、7路公(gong)交車(che)到(dao)中醫院下(xia)車(che)即到(dao),乘小公(gong)共汽車(che)或打車(che)更為(wei)方便。
